These solar lights are unlike the traditional solar lights that you are more likely familiar with. They are different in many ways. And so long as you are buying them to do what is described in the description, you are going to be very happy with them. And while they do excel at what I like to call "accent lighting", they would likely be unsuitable for anything that is not described above, in my opinion. They aren't very bright, and they are indeed blue on the sides. They are excellent at marking a pathway or driveway that needs just a bit of extra light to stand out from the darkness surrounding it. Likewise, they'd be very entertaining in a garden that you might want to call some attention to.
