This is the 3rd Elf that I have bought over the years. My 3 year old is old enough for his own Elf now. I buy the Elves to match my kids eye color and gender. My mistake was to have the Elves move around and do funny stuff. Now the kids expect it every year. It is so hard to remember to move the darn Elves and I have almost gotten caught a few times. If you are just starting out, here is a tip, just leave the Elf in one spot!

My daughter loves her elf on the shelf. She watched the elf movie on Netflix and became obsessed. She even named her elf Timber like in the movie lol. Really cute elf and book is a bonus
