I have three of these pots and I can cook beans and soups and stews and fry fish, sear meats etc. I just live that they come in different colors and my favorite is the red. I even bought my daughter one in teal blue and I was so surprised to find that color for a Dutch oven. I can sear my meat and then put it in the oven in the same pot to finish cooking.
