They don't work. Put two packets (as per the instructions) under seasoned wood. Said wood was chopped down to pretty much kindling. Packets burned out in less than 2 minutes and never came close to igniting the wood. Not sure where all these good reviews come from but don't waste your money.

It won’t ignite charcoal with just one I would use multiple even when using a chimney

first and last time buying this product. It has too much black smoke when used, I don't think it is safe. I preferred the gas torch to start, it has no weird black smoke as this QUICKSURVIVE fire starters.

i had high expections when i ordered it. loaded my new grill as instructed. lit one and stood back expecting 700 degrees of heat. nothing happened it went out. hard to light. got it lit. waited for a tall flame. got a small maybe 4 inch flame. not much heat. long story short short, it took 7 packets to light the charcoal. save your money and buy another product. it smells like charcoal stater fluid.

So we have our camper at the shore all summer, and our pile of wood sits out in the rain.I bought these fire starts because they guaranteed to light wet wood, FALSE.They do not work any better than any other fire started out there. Very disappointed that we spent the money and it doesn't really do anything. We went through about 6 the other weekend and had to resort to lighter fluid before anything would even take off. Don't waste the money!!

Most of the claims on the bag are lies. It definitely does not give you 10 minutes of burn time. The edges do catch fire quickly, and the product itself does produce some smoke, which would make you think there could be fire, but that’s if. I tested this product in a VERY controlled environment. I had super dry wood, the wind wasn't going to be an issue. I will say, if I’m a survival situation, it might help. I personally would t carry this as a survival tool. It’s overpriced, and I definitely wouldn’t consider the black smoke safe. There are better options available, for half if not less the cost.
