Returning the Contec.

I have tried it with the batteries I have. It is not working. I have ordered new batteries. With the lockdown they will not arrive until April 9. If it does not work by then I will send it back.

NO BATTERIES? MADE IN CHINA

I was very disappointed opening the package to learn there were no batteries included. I guess I should have read the entire page and all the reviews to learn this before purchasing it. So many devices these days have a charging capability. This does not. And to find the batteries are not included is a disappointment. Perhaps it is because it's shipped from China! For these reasons, I may return it.

Inconsistent

I bought 2 different pulse-ox readers for my in-laws. I bought this one because it had the waveform option. The numbers are definitely inaccurate. It will read a saturation of 98%, but heart rate of 39. Or another time, saturation of 89% and HR of 90. When compared to 2 different machines, the others will read 99%, HR: 90 and 97%, HR: 88, respectively. This can cause major problems. If this were our only reader, either occurrence could have sent someone to the ER unnecessarily. Also, there are different options on how to view the numbers. It resets everytime and is not super responsive to pressing the button to change the view. Again, my main reason for getting this one was the waveform option. It does not default to this view, even when changed, and cannot be changed easily. Will be returning or throwing away.

Completely defective

The media could not be loaded. I’m at home with Covid and decided to purchase this to monitor my blood oxygen levels. I installed the brand new batteries as directed but it’s not powering on. I should’ve spent a little more for a product that actually works. Lesson learned!

JUNK: Oxygen level is wrong

I got suspicious of the oxygen saturation (O2Sat) sensors when I was short of breath but it read 99%. We have two so I put them both on. One was at 95-96% and the other pegged at 99%. Holding my breath should make the oxygen level drop. Neither budged. Frustrated it too me so long to figure out these are totally junk. We can’t find my good $40 FDA approved pulse oximeter. Bought these as quickship items when we needed them fast. These people are totally taking advantage of the pandemic. ::jk

Non working item and suspiciously used looking

Very disappointed in this particular order. DOA When the unit arrived in plastic sleeve I got concerned but remaind open minded Popped in batteries, following clearly marked polarizing directions, and nothing. Okay, maybe the batteries are bad. Ten sets of brand new batteries, even tested the batteries to make sure it wasn't that, ultimately attempted in every direction and combo to rule out a the possibility of a misprint on the directions, but still a black screen. I never did get even a single blip. Looking over the unit closer during this 10 battery set attempt I really started to question the new vs used state of this unit, discovering the scratches on the display. No, it is not a protective film on my screen as the vendor suggested was possible, I tried lifting the film for several minutes to no avail. There is also some sort of goop on the unit that's dirty...yay! You can see it in the photos attached. There is also the very questionable rubbing off of ink on the labels, but there wasn't any ink on my skin, meaning someone else had handled this unit repeatedly. I have units that are 6+ years old with intact lables. This unit, in this condition can't possibly be new. If it had been labeled as referb than I could accept the scratches, but not the broken part. It was sold as new and I purchased from the company store to avoid this kind of issue. For reference: I have more than 15 years experience working with pulse oximeters so I feel I have reasonable expectations of what a new unit should look and behave like. Turn on, work and not have scratches out of shipment or be dirty. I already own 5 pulse oximeters, though currently only have four as I've gifted one and was looking for another reliable unit. Due to a ongoing medical conditions in our house we keep these units in our cars, at bedside and in our bags. I had high hopes and expectations, unfortunately it appears I got an item that shouldn't have been sent out. The return was easy at Whole Foods, so that's nice.

Does not work w battery case on

Feels very cheaply made. Display is easy to read with battery case off but then batteries want to pop out. Put the battery case cover on and the display goes out. Battery holder is miss aligned. Difficult trying to return to manufacturer as they had me go to post office to purchase postage during the Stay at Home mandate. They did refund cost of postage after O2 meter was received.

Lots of Misleading Details in AD and posted responses...

Empty slot in foam packaging held either 2 AAA batteries or a case, of which I did not get either. Price of all pulse oximeters are inflated due to pandemic. The price was under $20 about a year ago. Beware of ads stating US Warehouse....it only means it was made in China and you are being led to believe it is of US manufacture....which it is not. The accuracy of the device cannot be confirmed.
