Batteries are not included, but for the price I’m not complaining, just pointing it out in case anyone missed it in the description. The display is very easy to read and the auto shut off is nice. I can’t comment on its accuracy. I gave 4 stars on easy of use only because it moves around my finger while using it.

I have had a another Contec model and I have been happy with it. I bought this model for a family member but after inserting batteries the device did not turned on. I noticed there is a design difference between the two models. The battery holder springs end are big and may not contact with the positive side of the battery properly. To fix it, using the long nose pliers, apply force on the tip of the spring of + side to make it oval shape instead of big round. This way, it will contact with the battery no problem, and the device will turn on and work properly.

I compared with another oxymeter . This one not accurate ..it gives 2 to 3 units below or above

The one I purchased did not come with batteries, which it says in the tiny print instructions that batteries are optional, so I had to buy batteries. After installing the batteries I discovered the meter did not function at all, I lost my temper, and threw it against the wall. Now I'm positive it doesn't work. "Ya spends your money and ya takes your chances." Not wanting to give up, I fiddled around and discovered that the rechargeable batteries I bought don't work in this device, but regular AAA's do. Now it works just fine. Easy to read, too. I rate this a good buy. Too bad mine didn't come with batteries.

Without question the owners manual is the smallest print, I've ever seen anywhere. And reading the instructions, is necessary, because the battery installation is counterintuitive. One anode, goes against a spring. Apart from that......works great so far.
