I got this for my 3 year old daughter for Christmas. She has NO desire to pedal a bike. We put her on this, and it's like a different kid! She is a little confused about having to sit and walk at the same time, but I am sure she will figure it out! She has always been in the 98th percentile for height, so I am glad this model comes with the extra long seat post.
We bought this for my 1 year old son and he loves it so much! He stood right next to (and helped) his Dad put the bike together! Even his 5 and 6 year old brothers like to play on it. It may be because we keep it inside right now since it is winter. The bike was fairly easy to put together. It did not take very long. I love that it comes with two seats - a tiny one for the littler guys. And a larger (still little) seat for the little older kids. The seat height also adjusts. The handle bars also adjust. My only complaint isn't against the bike but that I never bought these for my older kids. This bike is awesome!
My son is autistic and had motor skills challenges. He's nearly 5 yrs, 39" and 38 lbs and fits this bike perfectly. He can't manage to pedal a tricycle or bike w training wheels and gets very discouraged. But this works so perfectly for him. The price is outrageous, it should be priced similar to regular bikes. But it does exactly what it says. It is good quality and there's room for him to grow a few more inches before we're at maximum height.
I was all set to buy my 22-mo old grandson a tricycle, but I came across these AWESOME Strider bikes while comparative shopping. Being an Early Childhood educator, these bikes are so much better for developing a child's gross motor skills, balance, independence, directional skills. Since he uses his feet to propel the bike he can "off-road" on the grass, go up and down curbs (with adult supervision!) - he loves being able to steer and manuveur the bike all by himself! In a few years he'll be ready for a pedal bike with no need for training wheels!
This balance bike is well made & a gr8 way for kids to learn how to ride a bike.
This bike is seriously one of the best things I have bought as a parent! The kids definitely get a hang of it quick, so be ready to keep up with them!
