Easily the best vacuum cleaner I ever owned. Someone stole it during a move and I ordered the same one again. The power is fabulous and I love the flexibility of various attachments and ways to use this machine. Brilliant design. The only complaint I can think of is that the cord gets tangled in the vacuum cleaner all the time and it doesn't wrap around the plastic loops that are supposed to hold it. I'm surprised they didn't come up with a new model with retractible cord, sort of like the retractable dog leashes. If they ever decide to make one, I'll buy it a third time yet. even if it bankrupts me. I won't even ask for royalties for the idea. Anyone?

This is, by far, the best vacuum I've ever owned. The suction is very strong, but you can turn off the "rug-beater" brush with a conveniently-located button on the handle if you need to release some of the suction. It maneuvers like a dream, and the handle goes down to the floor, allowing me to reach underneath furniture. I would never have known that it was refurbished. It arrived in like-new condition, completely clean, all decals in place, and with an instruction manual. The only thing I would change is its weight. I find it to be fairly heavy, but, because it's so easy to steer in and out and around furniture, this is not an issue. The only time I'd like it to be lighter is when I'm lifting it up to hang it on a hook for storage. The dirt cup is very easy to empty, and doesn't make a mess all over the place. I'm highly allergic to dust and, with the HEPA filter, I haven't had a single reaction while vacuuming. This vacuum would have been worth it to me at even double the price. And I'd never have known it wasn't brand new. But, because it's refurbished, the price was shockingly low. I am a 100% happy customer.

I waited 5 years to write this review and I have to say- this vacuum is awesome! It comes apart for cleaning, works perfectly, is lightweight but sturdy. I love all the hose attachments. I have had to take apart the roller due to dog hair clogs about 4 times since I bought it- but I am not mechanically inclined at all, and even I found this to be a straightforward process. I can't believe what an amazing vacuum this is. I use it weekly and even drag it outside to clean my car. I would definitely recommend Shark for lasting value!
Salty old man.
This is an amazing little vacuum. It's not terribly loud, but it isn't quiet, either, and that's fine. I'm not sure what else you would expect from a vacuum. This vacuum has a smaller power head, which means more passes on the floor, but it also means it fits between the night stand and the bed, or the dresser and the wall, or the couch and the love seat. Honestly, two more complete passes in the living room because of the smaller power head is more than made up for by the ability to reach into smaller spaces. The tools it comes with are great, as expected. The rotating furniture brush is amazing at cleaning cat hair off of the couch and other surfaces. The crevice tool is really what I use for everything that would require using the wand--it's just the right size and constricts suction enough to make it really powerful. Finally, the vacuum itself has great suction. It easily rivals the Electrolux Canister vac I've had for years. Being able to lift the canister off of the base and carry it around (with the cord attached) is by far more useful than I thought it would be. It seemed gimmicky when we ordered the vacuum, but it's extremely useful. The power head is amazing at vacuuming bare floors and carpets, as well as rugs. I haven't had any problems with it pushing debris instead of sucking it up. The actual function of vacuuming floors is above a five star level, and that's what we bought it for.Negatives:The handle is great for pushing and pulling the vacuum, as when doing floors, but is kind of awkward when using the wand. It's manageable, and you learn to hold it at the right angle, but its' kind of odd at first. There are a lot of clips to undo to remove anything, and they seem like they could break easily, if you get into a big hurry. In fact, the floor model of this vacuum that Costco was selling had a broken clip from people walking by and playing with it. Use caution, and it will last a long time. Also, I believe most parts on this vacuum, including the hose, are customer replaceable, so that will extend the life of the vacuum quite a while. If you have two large, long-haired dogs and a cat, you WILL occasionally have to reach into the canister to remove a furball from the filter at the top. It's easy, and takes just a second when emptying it, and doesn't happen every time, but it will happen, and it's kind of gross. But then, if you have two large, long-haired dogs and a cat, a ball of fur probably isn't the grossest thing you've had to tough this week.Everything else about this vacuum is positive. It's really as awesome as people say, and I'm glad I went with the refurb. It's in superb condition and stores easily.

Very impressed with this vacuum. It works so well and it glides very nicely over hard-wood flooring, and the carpet button works very well on carpets too. It has a strong suction, helping get a ton of dirt and dust off your floors. I like that this vacuum has the attached hose, and it is a light vacuum as well. I think this is one of the better vacuums I have ever owned. We have had a Kirby, a Dyson, and a DirtDevil. What I like about the Shark vacuum is it is light and does the job nice and easy. The Kirby vacuums can kill someone because they are so heavy duty and made out of steel. DirtDevils are terrible vacuums and break at the touch of a button, with the cheap plastic and too light of weight materials. Stick with a Shark! Doesn't seem to disappoint so far. Dysons are nice but so expensive.

I want to like this vacuum. I've had a Shark before and loved it. I should never have bought a "renewed" machine- I thought since it was labeled as Prime + free returns, that I would be okay if there was a problem with it. Nope. I requested a return and Amazon put me in touch with the seller via email. Seller was unwilling to make it right, so now I'm stuck with a defective machine. I learned an expensive lesson here. Beware!
