I ordered four of these shorts all in the same size. I usually wear a size 6 and ordered a 9 based on reviews. The two shorts in denim fit just fine (like I would expect a size 6 to fit), loosely fitted and not tight. The two non denim shorts (khaki and navy) were at best a tight size 4 and one felt like I was squeezing into a size 2. So yes, the sizes are a roulette. I only played the game because I really wanted shorts with this inseam and I couldn’t find them anywhere else.

Seemed to shrink a little after washing, even though they didn't go in the dryer.

The recommended size was too small. I could pull them up but there was no way to fasten and zip them. I returned those and went up a size. I did keep the larger size however they actually are very roomy now. I feel like one size up should not have this much room. I ordered 2 colors. They are stiff as some of the other reviews mentioned, I am trying to soften them with fabric softener.

I'm 5'3", 121 pounds and usually wear a size 4 in pants and shorts. Amazon suggested I get a 3 in these - they were laughably too small around my waist. So I sized up to a 5 - again, far too small. Size 7 finally fit me well, and I'm keeping them and ordering more colors. The amount of stretch in the shorts is terrific, nothing feels tight when I'm moving around. I do not love the 2 buttons and 2 clasps I need to maneuver in order to get these on and off, though. Two pockets in front and two in back are great. The only other thing I don't love about the shorts is that the cotton is a much heavier weight than twill, so these shorts are not as lightweight and cooling on hot Texas summer days.

These shorts are cute, but not great. Fit is ok, true to size - but not as stretchy as I like.

These shorts are very cute and comfortable, but they are not true to the color in the picture. The picture shows a more true pink, and the ones we received were more of a melon tone. Additionally, they were startlingly sheer given the thickness of material. However, overall they are cute and a good addition to the summer wardrobe.

Size up - these run small

These shorts have a lot of stretch, making them more comfortable than regular denim shorts.They feel soft on the skin. They are not a stiff denim. They feel more like a spandex denim blend.I do not suggest wearing them if you have tummy problems. They fasten with 2 buttons, 2 slide hooks, and a zipper.The back right pocket had a button closure. This makes using this pocket a little difficult to use. The left back hold my cell phone easily. The front pockets are plenty deep as well. I can actually fit most of my hand and not just fingers.
