I liked the design and brightness of the top light source, so in total over ~1.8 years I bought four lamps. My low rating is due to the issues with the dimmer switch. The scenario was the same for 3 out of 4 lamps. I used two 150 WT incandescent lamps as suggested. It worked fine till the first of the top lamps died and was changed. The dimmer immediately stopped functioning: only on/off function remained. Then it stopped working altogether and I had to discard the torchere I used most. Another went to its place and now its dimmer switch is unusable: on/off kind of works but there is smoke coming from the switch area. The third lamp still has on/off function (no dimming) but for how long? The forth is rarely used, and I have low wattage led lamps there. Dimmer works so far, but the brightness is much weaker. I still like the design, so I ordered two more torcheres to replace the damaged ones. Now I will try to use dimable led lamps on the top, but the highest brightness (~100WT) may not be sufficient for me.

I bought the same model at a Target store before and it still works perfectly. This one I bought online...same threading issue as other reviews mentioned. :(

The lamp is working. It's just like in the picture but it's loose in bottom. We assembled it correctly. It looks like a manufacture defect. First time, I'm unhappy with something I bought on target. Wish I had read the reviews.

The last two pieces of the pole could not assemble because the threaded section was attached crookedly to the pole section. I returned it and was just considering ordering another on the chance it was a one off, but just read the other reviews. and don't like my chances. It is a pity, as it seemed like an otherwise sturdy and attractive lamp.

Attractive lamp and has a weighty feel to it that makes it seem quality. I did not have the assembly issues that other reviews have had, but the “daughter” lamp arm broke off after we used it for the 3rd time. Can’t reattach without solder or super glue which seems ridiculous to me. Next time I won’t cheap out on a lamp and will spend more money for a higher quality item.

First time I ordered this lamp it took over a month to receive and it was broken. Then I purchased one from the store, tried to assemble it and it was crooked. Very low quality!

Was excited about this lamp but like the other reviews, one of the screws was crooked and I couldn't even screw it all the way in. Not to mention, the "daughter" light fixture midway up the lamp was completely broken and unusable.

I bought two of these and they both broke in different ways within 8 months of purchase. On one, the “daughter” lamp just fell off the main lamp. Bad soldering job? This one was also dented on the base upon opening. On the other, the switch to turn on the “daughter” lamp came off, the entire lamp has started to lean at an angle and the dimmer switch, when used, causes the light bulb to flicker unless it’s turned up to full power. You get what you pay for here and I’m grateful I got these on sale because even $30 is steep for the quality.

The light it gives off is great. HOWEVER I got one of the bad ones. Like other negative reviews said, it flickers and doesn’t screw in properly. I’m going to keep it because I don’t want to go through the hassle of disassembling it and taking it back :/ I’m very disappointed though bc $60!

This lamp is poorly and cheaply made. It is not worth 65 dollars. It does not sit straight and we had to Bend it so that it wasn’t crooked. Several pieces were so tightly screwed, that had to be unscrewed for assembly we had to use pliers! It takes two people to build and you have to be strong! My husband said it wasn’t worth 10 bucks!
