As other reviewers have said, the threading is not quite right. We could never get this lamp to be exactly straight, as one of the pieces just didn’t go together properly. It finally fell over and shattered all over my son’s room last night. Not very happy with this lamp at all.

Lights constantly flicker, even though every bulb is screwed in right and it really bothers me that the lamp doesn't stand up straight. You can tell that it's leaning. So annoying. Won't ever purchase this lamp again or any from target again.

Nice and bright, looks good, but after a year or so (too late to return!) the dimmer switch is failing on the main lamp. The result is persistent problems with flickering and buzzing sounds. I tried replacing the bulbs, no effect: the problem is in the fixture itself. I hate to throw out a nice looking lamp after so little time, but I’m getting concerned that the bad switch could be a fire hazard. apparently this is a common problem, looking at other reviews. so: do not buy. look elsewhere.

This lamp looked great when we first bought it. But, after a little over a year with only occasional use, the top lights started flickering and then went out. The main dimmer switch had failed and now the top lights don’t work properly. The main reason we bought it was for the brightness of the top lights so now it is useless. I was surprised to find it had no warranty!!! I would have expected better from an item from Target.

Just got this for a gift and can’t even use it. First off, it was absolute pain to put together - so many misaligned threads and connectors coming apart. Secondly, once we finally got it together and put bulbs in it, after about 3 seconds they start flickering and blinking. Biggest waste of an hour and a half.

I am joining people in the review to confirm this lamp is rip off- I bought this lamp in January, 2021. It failed in December, 2021. I lost the receipt. I usually keep receipt for couple months. I figure if things work within months, they will take while to break or last forever. I had terrible lamp that lasted 30 years. The top lights flick. It really hurt my eyes. I bought this one in the hurry. I went to Target and get. I should have read the review. Advise, not sure about the warranty policy as I lost the receipt. Keep the receipt and box Better, don't buy it

I had the same experience as others. It's good for maybe a year, then the dimmer switch becomes faulty and doesn't work properly. Turn it all the way and the main light might stay on for a few minutes, but then it goes dark. The secondary, positional light still works, but it's a poor substitute for the main top light.

Do not buy! As many people said in the reviews the threads are not aligned correctly so the poles do not screw in straight. I got really frustrated trying to assemble then ended up returning it. Seems like it would be a nice lamp if the threads weren’t defective

The top section of the lamp post was threaded improperly causing it to stand crooked. Also, whenever it is powered on, the light bulbs click (tested with 6+ different light bulbs.) I honestly don't think there is one redeeming characteristic of this lamp. Actually, that's not true. I do like that it has a second light fixture 2/3 of the way up the base to use as a reading lamp. That is a neat feature, but it is in no way unique to this lamp. Do not buy this unless you would like to be disappointed in yourself every single time you walk into the room. I honestly would have thrown it away the day I bought it if I didn't feel bad about creating waste in the landfill.

This is the second one I bought thinking the first one must have been a fluke, but both have the same problems... The lamp was properly put together with the correct dimming light bulbs, but there is this buzzing noise when using the dimming feature and the lights flicker. Don't buy this lamp. It's trash.
