The bag is absolutely the best part of this tool kit. It looks really good, has a bunch of pockets, and the zipper part holds itself open. The tools are good for the price, but they're definitely made for light duty tasks like picture hanging and minor repairs. You're not going to build a house with this kit. I really like the color matching between the bag and all of the tools, but my one complaint is that the spackle knife is green, not teal. Otherwise it's a really good basic tool set.

The Amazon Basics Tool Set comes with standard household tools like a claw hammer, pliers, screwdrivers, a tape measure, a torpedo level, and other small items. Most of the tools, including the screwdrivers, clamps, and putty knife, seem a bit cheap. But some of the tools, like the tape measure, torpedo level, and hammer, are surprisingly solid. Not that you'd take any of these tools to the construction site or shop. It's strictly for household use.I got this set for my girlfriend, and it's perfectly suitable for the type of household projects she does. The best part of the entire set is the tool bag. It's not too big, yet everything fits in it nicely with room to spare. Plus, it's very sturdy. All in all, my girlfriend likes this Amazon Basics Tool Set and rates it 4.5 stars.

These tools are, of course, for the occasional user, not a master craftsman. The storage bag is well-made, sturdy and has a good number of handy pockets, though only one has a Velcro closure--more of those would be nice. The hammer is pretty small, but has a nice heft to it, and will work for everything I might need it for. I particularly liked the screwdriver set, as that is the number one thing I need for minor repairs around the house and can never find. I got this, as a wife, whose husband's tools are disorganized--I can never find what I need. So I was really looking forward to having 'pretty' tools, which could never be mistaken for his. I was a little disappointed to find that some of the tools were a different color than the turquoise I had ordered. It's a minor thing, and the colors (green, baby blue) are still distinctive enough for my purpose, but as someone, obsessed with sets, it bugs me that it's not completely color-coordinated. A minor issue, and I did not deduct a star for it. Overall, really pleased.

I'm really happy with the assortment of basic tools and supplies that this set comes with. I'm always needing a screwdriver or a hammer and having to bug my husband because for some reason I didn't think I needed my own tool set. But I loved the color of this and now I have my own! It comes with a very sturdy canvas carry bag with outside pockets, and it will hold a lot of thing in addition to the tool set. THis is really a nice value for all of the quality pieces that come with it.

Although the "Basics" in the item title is attached to "Amazon" is might as well be attached to "Tool Set" as well. This isn't a real collection of tools and inevitably you'll need to go buy more specialized tools, but this is a great starter kit for someone living on their own for the first time or a new home owner. Some of the tools should get plenty of use (the screw driver) and other I can't see being used more than twice (so many Allen wrenches) but all of them are useful in some way. This is a great tool bag to keep in the garage or even in your trunk. Obviously, this isn't going to be of much use to someone like my dad who has twenty different hammers for twenty different special purpose, but for someone less handyman and more "Which one is the Monkey Wrench" (like me), it's a good set of cheap tools that will help with a lot of easy repairs.
