I enjoyed the creative freedom of the kit. I turned 2 of the towels into a little cafe curtain and still have one left. I will say that the basic Shibori method turned out the best for me.

The kit is cute but the towels aren’t great quality

I ended up having to purchase a $5 - 4pk of Flour Sack White Kitchen Towels to make this kit usable. The fabric included with this art kit was so sheer and so cheaply woven that it was clearly not what was used in the sample photos on the box and more like a cheesecloth than an actual kitchen towel. I gave the kit 2 stars as the dye stuck nicely once I swapped out the material.

The instructions are terrible, and very incomplete, unclear, and lacking. However, despite that stress and confusion, whatever we did turned out kind of okay, and the final product looks good. However, the “napkins” they provided with the kit ate terrible and low quality too with weird ugly edges and more of a mesh than cloth.

Very cute concept. While it’s nice to have everything you need included, the pictures in the instructions are hard to see. They are shown on a white background and the ties, fabric, and rubber bands are white. The instructions are pretty vague so you will need to look up certain things such as dry vs wet method (it tells you to pick but doesn’t explain what the difference is). The fabric is extremely poor quality- it’s pretty much gauze with an edge. I would have expected this to be one of the $5 kids kits.
