Her family has always had a deep appreciation of nature and the wonderful outdoors of Maine from its rocky coast to the interior forests and mountains. The closeness Susan feels with the natural beauty of her home state and its wildlife is well represented in her paintings. Breaking the bonds of a local talent, Susan has the distinction of being the first woman to be selected to create the image for New Hampshire’s Migratory Waterfowl Stamp. Her credentials include winning the 1994 Maine Duck Stamp competition. She has also been welcomed into such prestigious shows as the Annual Waterfowl Festival in Easton, Maryland, and the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition in Charleston, South Carolina, which resulted in a surge of interest in the works of this Maine artist.In 2010 Wild Wings, a leading publisher of wildlife, sporting, and nostalgic/Americana art prints began publishing and representing Susan’s artwork.
