It requires you to download the app before you can unlock it what a joke!. A million things wanting you to scan a flippin QR code its insanity. Its super weak the shots barely go a few feet, total waste of cash. The Gel capsules are a mess too. Not good for in house. It looks cool thats about it. You need to get the exact measurement of water to add otherwise the gel capsules will be too small or large. All in all its pretty much garbage. Save your cash.

So the faction Spectre gel bead blaster is easy to handle, lots of fun and easy to aim. This gun and it's larer counterpart both have tracking beacons uu can use. So much fun. The beads are easily whetted and loaded into the blaster. You really should try them. Keep gel beads away from small kids or pets.

We had so much fun with this blaster!! It takes a few hours to hydrate the gel beads, but once they are ready, you have plenty for several rounds of play. Charging for the blaster was also surprisingly fast and the charge held all day for us. There is a light on the side of the blaster that will show you what level you're at for the battery/charging. This blaster came with 2 blue gel bead packets and 1 glow in the dark gel bead packet. There's also a cool beacon that you can set up for practicing and playing games. We downloaded the app and while it worked well, it's still sparse on games to play or ways to use it. A good thing to note is the blaster has a safety because there are 3 different rates of fire: single shot, three round burst, and full auto. Another thing that is kind of neat, the gel beads explode on impact. The blaster also came with a pair of safety goggles and they worked wonderfully. The little pieces of exploded bead gel would fly around but the glasses managed to keep our eyes well protected. So, with all that being said, this is definitely NOT a toy for younger kids/people. My husband and I played with our 16 and 19 year old daughters. If we had "kids" that head been a few years younger, we would have taken them away immediately. This is only for responsible people and someone who can consent to the possibility of being hit by one of the gel beads. They sting a little and they do leave marks on your skin. Overall, this is a great toy that we had hours of fun with!

I received this item as part of the Hey, Bullseye program. The Spectre is the hand held version--like a pistol, compared to it's larger cousin the Havoc. This is definitely light enough for youngsters and early teenagers since it's not too heavy. The ability to coordinate with others make it fun--although it does take a little time investment to figure out how this works. Definitely much less painful than a paintball gun. Can be played in the early evening given that the pellets and target glows in the dark. Can play individually or as a group--fun game for me and my kids!

This gel blaster is the smaller of the set and the perfect size to run around and keep up with the bigger kids. The gel blaster is made very well. Easy to use. The gel beads are easy to put in container and attach to the gel blaster. This will bring so many hours of fun and some pain.

I was under the impression that we would be able to open the box, put some batteries in the bead blaster and beacon and only have to wait for the gel beads to hydrate. I was wrong. It was a time consuming process, that took around 3-4 hours before we were able to start. The bead blaster must be charged by using the provided charging cable. The adapter is not provided but I was able to use one we had from our phones. It took about an hour to fully charge. The dehydrated gel beads needed to be prepared, which took 3 hours as recommended. Filling the clip with the beads was semi-easy, although a few of them went rogue and bounced all over my kitchen floor. I put the beads in a rice strainer and used a funnel after too many bounced away using just hands. The blaster itself is easy to use and great accuracy. There is a little orange chat button where we were able to talk to each other since we have another blaster. There is an app to download which isn’t mandatory, but I did since it was highly recommended based on the instructions. The app was easy to start up and kept track of hits, we can choose a drone or a beacon as a target and had the ability to control some functions of the blaster. There are some items on the app that said coming soon so we couldn’t test those out. Initially connecting the blaster and beacon was easy but we had to close the app a few times and connecting them back again got confusing or we thought it was connected but it wasn’t so we had to start over by closing the app and shutting the beacon off. We had to keep the app open the whole time otherwise the blaster and targets were disconnected. Towards the end of playing with the blaster we just closed the app and used it with the beacon without. We could still tell if there was a hit or miss based on the color of the light band. Aside from the time from opening the box to playing, the only other complaint we had was the beads jammed up quite a bit but it was a quick fix. This is fun for the whole family.
