So far so good. Made a perfect waffle on my first try (set at level 3). Absolutely worth the extra money to get an audible beep when the waffle is done, no more sitting and waiting!

I have several Cuisinart appliances and never had any problems with them. When I saw this Belgian wafflemaker is made by Cuisinart, I thought it would be a good buy. Just used it for the first time and the first problem is that it doesn't lay flat when it's in the horizontal position. Second problem is that it doesn't bake evenly. The first waffle I made was barely baked in some parts and didn't bake in others. It was a mess to remove from the griddle plates. The second attempt was almost as bad as the first. The top half was virtually unbaked even after turning the temperature control all the way up to 5. I don't know if Cuisinart wafflemakers are poorly made or if it was this one appliance but in my opinion, this is a piece of junk and I'm returning it to Target.
