To get rid of mosquitoes. Has not happened

This bug zapper is just ok. Kills some mosquitos but for the size doesn't kill many. I wouldn't waste the money. Plus it’s a pain to have to keep recharging. The big plug in bug zappers are better.

Great design, charges in a 1hr. never dies. ran every night for a week. I feel safer, But that is because of the mosquito netting I bought. I use, just in case a mosquito gets into the netting. I have this on. Haven't been bit since using it, but that may be luck, my tent fan (which I LOVE) I bought and use at the same time or it is actually killing bugs and I don't know it.

Pros: - Easy to clean. Since it's water-proof, you can just run it under the faucet. - Charges relatively fast and runs all day (without top light on). - Convenient when no outlet available Cons: - Doesn't do much. It killed about a dozen flies over the course of a week. Eventually I tried a full size zapper (maybe twice the price or so) and it killed about a hundred flies in a single day. That was indoors. I clearly have a bad fly problem. Every time I see them mounting each other, I try to catch them and put them outside to slow the spread. lol - Seems a little cruel. I know this doesn't matter to most people, but even the more powerful zappers don't kill them all instantly. With lower power, it just seems crueler to me.
