Make sure you don't have a silicone sensitivity.

I believe in theory that this product is wonderful, however, the material that it is made out of MIGHT not be well suited for everyone. I for example had a terrible reaction to having a silicone thing inside of me. My body started treating it as an infection and I had to go to the doctors because of it. Either way.. just be careful.

Just tried my third cycle with the Diva Cup. I have tried every fold there is, every angle and I still can't get it to not leak. It almost seems like it's getting harder and harder to pop open as well the longer I try it. Maybe this brand doesn't work for me but I do love the concept of it.

it works fine. But just too hard to insert and remove

I couldn't use this product. Tried for several months but had a lot of issues trying to get it in and out. Once inserted, it works fine. But just too hard to insert and remove. The last straw was today when I dropped it into the toilet when trying to remove it. I am done. I think a lot of the problem is that I have nails (not even long nails, but they do extend slightly beyond my fingertip). It's extremely painful trying to insert and remove with nails IMO. Bottom line, after lots of pain and struggle (and reaching my hand to the bottom of a toilet) I can't use this product and am sorry I wasted my money and time.

Very Uncomfortable!

I purchased the Diva Cup a few months ago and had high hopes of saving the planet AND making my period less of a hassle in one fell swoop. However, that has not been my experience. I am someone that relies heavily on customer reviews on Amazon when making purchases and felt compelled to tell my personal experience with the Diva Cup. I am 37 years old and have three children (all vaginal births), so I ordered Size 2. I am giving a 2 star review because I don't feel that the product is bad but just a flawed product concept. The silicone feels nice and is pretty sturdy, yet flexible. First of all, this product is meant to sit very low in the vagina (unlike tampons that are inserted farther in). If you are used to wearing tampons, you know that you don't generally feel them because they are inserted past the lower vaginal wall muscles. Menstrual cups are not meant to be inserted that far, which means YOU CAN FEEL IT EVERY TIME YOU MOVE! And it's not a good feeling! If you have ever had a tampon that was not quite placed correctly and not far enough in, the cup is about the same type of experience. After reading numerous reviews before buying this cup, I noted that many users trimmed the stem off. I did that and it helped a tiny bit. I think the issue is the rings at the end of the cup to help you get some traction when removing the cup. Unless I was sitting or laying down and not moving, it felt like these rings were rubbing on my vaginal walls and created a pinching sensation each time I moved. It was very uncomfortable and not something that you could get used to with prolonged use. It actually started to make me feel nauseous! I tried several times to insert it farther up but it never stayed in that far and always slid back down to its favorite spot! When I did have it in I did not have any issues with leaking and as long as you remove it and try to keep it upright, it's not too messy. Overall, I wish I could have tried a cup before actually purchasing one. I paid around $30 for the cup and I could have bought a decent supply of pads/tampons for what I spent on a cup that won't get used. I know there are other brands out there to try but I don't plan on wasting any more money on cups. It is a great idea in theory but that is about it. Every body is different, so maybe it is just how my vagina is shaped that makes it uncomfortable. Good luck!

I prefer Indeed Softcup

I was hoping to like this but I became extremely irritated. My fist cup that I used was the Softcup by Indeed. Since I was happy with the product I thought I should use a permanent cup. After doing some research and reading all the great reviews I decided to purchase the DivaCup. I trimmed it down like the instructions mentioned but it just didn't work for me. I'm not sure if it is the shape or the material but I became inflamed and suffered discomfort. I gladly wen back to the Softcup which works wonderfully for me and later found out they offer a non disposable version but I still haven't purchased that type.

Not for Me

I was excited to try this because I was tired of using tampons and looking to wear something at night. Putting it in wasn’t bad, there’s a lot of good information about it online. It was difficult to twist around so I wasn’t sure if it was fully open inside me or not. Also, taking it out is a Bear!!!! It took me a very long time to take out. I almost freaked out because I couldn’t get a firm grip on the tip to pull it out. Also, there HAS been a confirmed of TSS (toxic shock syndrome) from someone wearing a diva cup. So, don’t think that this or any menstural cup will prevent you from getting it. Lastly, it’s just not for me. Too hard to get in and out- there is no way I could go through this process in a public toilet!!! No way! I had to be in a deep squat to put it in and out, and pulling it out is so messy, blood gets everywhere I had to do mine in the shower. I don’t like sticking my fingers constantly in and out of my hooha. And, just rinsing the cup each time and putting it in se me unhygienic. Just not for m.

Uncomfortable

After two cycles, I still can not comfortably wear the Diva Cup. Overall the small size feels too large and I feel it falling down throughout the day so I have to repetitively push it back into place. I did cut the stem, but that has still not helped and the placement can get pretty uncomfortable, especially while exercising. I'm rather disappointed about the fit and I might look into other brands to find a smaller size.

uncomfortable

I guess it takes a while to figure this thing out... I prefer disposable cups. The diva cup leaked and I could feel it inside me, which was very uncomfortable. The disposable cup brand I use is placed way higher and I don't really feel them inside me.

might be too big for some...

Had some friends that use this and love it! I wanted the easy out when it came to that time of the month. Thought this would be the ticket. Read the reviews about needing to have your hymen broken to make use easier. Thought I would try it out anyways. Just a bit of a warning... For me, this product was too big and hurt when I tried it out....needless to say, *try was the key word and now it sits on my shelf waiting to be used.

I'm just one of those people that this product didn't work for. Even with the smallest size, I experienced moderate/severe constant cramping for the duration it was in (I don't normally experience cramping otherwise). It's also a pain to clean if you're in a public bathroom with multiple stalls.
