[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my 1st smart watch and I'm very impressed. The strap looks great, is sturdy and well built. My previous timepiece is titanium so was expecting a great weight difference, not that much so I notice it. The watch itself has a lot of pre-loaded faces to choose from, and more to download - 1 for any occasion or task. The interface is easy to get used to but the keyboard that presents to reply to a text is too small for my fat digits, although there appears to be a writing function that I have yet to master. I don't get many texts to practice against but I did reply "OK" to a friend 7 times on the 1st day, before realising the suggested text was not an "OK" button... The heart rate function is interesting to follow (it tracks the resting rate historically) and the workout functions are great - more activities listed than I'll ever cover. All I need now is a function to increase calorie burn while resting (it's not there I checked). I love ability to set the power levels to either preset: daily (charging), extended (2 day life) and Time Only (!). You can also set custom levels so you're not burning battery with a function you don't need running all the time. In summary, this is a fantastic product and I would recommend it. It looks good on my wrist; with the functions required at a touch: at work, when I'm working out or if I'm going out (trust me, certain products don't look good with a tux!). With the assistant on my wrist, I feel a bit James Bond. Now, does anyone know how to change "Hey, Google", to "Hey, Mish Moneypenny"?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have now been using the fossil gen 5 for 1 week paired with my one plus 7 pro. The overall experience has been great. The set-up process was fast and painless from the phone and the watch is the fastest wearable I have used yet. The watch is stylish, and the quick release strap to change bands and the multiple faces allows you to change your style to match your activities for the day. I used the watch mainly as a notification center, so I don’t have to always be near my phone when I take care of my young children. This means that I am not missing any calls or messages and I am not distracted by the phone itself. Added benefits my kids don’t see my glued to the phone when I spend time with them. The battery life is pretty solid I still have around 20% at the end of the day int the most power hungry setting and the ability to switch to a limited or time only power mode means that I can go away for a week end without having to take my charger. The charger is the most negative part of the package. The system uses a copper ring to make contact between the charger and the watch instead of a standard wireless charging system that would have been supported by more system. The heart rate monitor seems pretty accurate and the large amount of workout that you can track makes it a great activity tracker and if the standard google fit tracking software is not at your taste you can download another one from the store. Overall I am very satisfied with the watch, this is the first wear os device that I have tried that was fast from the start combined with a great design and a decent battery life this is most probably the best smart watch for android users.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having been the owner of a gen 3 fossil smart watch I was kinda already in the frame of mind I would be in for a nice surprise, and I definitely was. Watch is stylish, well made from premium grade materials. It has more functionality and quicker response times for launching apps over previous models. The price for this bit of kit wow what can I say you get a lot of bang for your buck. Overall lovely looking and functional time piece would definitely recommend to family and friend, you won’t be disappointed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let's start with the setup process I had to go through. As I am a techy guy, it was quite easy to set up the smartwatch. I downloaded all the necessary apps with no problems and started using the phone daily. My top 3 functions for daily use are the Google Pay, Shopping List and Daily Agenda. These apps were necessary to be used every day. I find that paying with a smartwatch is even more convenient than using NFC payment from a phone. The watch is small and with once click I can use the payment function. Never had any issues with the payments. The other feature that I used daily was a shopping list. There is an app that is integrated through different platforms. So when I or any of my friends added anything to the shopping list, I could see on the phone and know what exactly to buy. This is convenient. As my calendar is full of entries (due to work), it is useful for me to look at my agenda for the day. I found that it is easier for me to have a glance on my wrist rather than to take out a phone to see the next event. Overall I am in love with the smartwatch. As it is my first Fossil product, I am more than happy to recommend it to anyone. The only problem I am facing is random ticking noise coming from the watch. Which I have read online is a common issue amongst others as well. I am hoping that this can be fixed with a software update soon.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first time I've used a smartwatch, so I didn't know what to expect - but this watch has been great. Pros: Very fast/responsive Implementation of Android notifications works really well The rotating central button is very cleverly designed, allows you to scroll through lists but also performs other functions (e.g. controlling volume) Nice, simple design Solid battery life (gets through a full day, more in the battery-saving modes) Good price compared to other flagship smartwatches Cons: None to speak of!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having had my last Wear OS watch for a few years now, I was on the lookout for a replacement. However nothing on the market seemed to be worth the upgrade, plus I was on the lookout for one that looked much less like a smartwatch and had much more class, and looked more like a normal watch than a smartwatch. Then the Gen 5 has arrived at the perfect time! The watch looks great. I chose to review the link bracelet, but also bought a leather strap to see what I liked best (dead easy to change the straps!), but ended up liking the leather straps better. The official Fossil straps are actually lined with rubber on the inside, so are very comfortable, and easy to clean. The screen on the Gen 5 is lovely to look at, bright and crisp, and has been fine to read outdoors. There's not been much bright sunshine recently (classic Scottish October) but everything has been perfectly readable for me. The always-on-display is also great for checking the time by quickly glancing down at your wrist. The Gen 5 adds a speaker over the Gen 4, which can be used for phonecalls, and works fine, however I've not found a particularly good use case for this yet. It's not as good a speaker as the one you'll likely have on your phone, I suppose that it may be good in a situation when you want to make a phonecall but can't have your phone in your hands at the same time. Performance wise, the watch runs great, and haven't had any crashes or hanging. This is a massive plus over the recent Fossil Sport, which I found crashed a few times when using it, and was afraid the Gen 5 might do the same. Battery life is about on per with what I'd expect for a smartwatch, with me just about being able to get two days use out of it between charges. There are a huge amount of toggles to switch various functions on or off in order to increase battery life (for example, if you don't use the watch for contactless payments, you can switch NFC off). Having everything on and you're likely to not be able to make it through two full days. In summary, this is one of the best looking Wear OS watches out there. The screen is great, and performance has also been pretty good. Battery life is what I've been expecting from Wear OS smartwatches out there so isn't necessarily a disappointment.
