It sadly took me a few months after getting this appliance to put it into service. First up was my sister's famous tortilla soup. She uses a "traditional" crockpot but lacking one, I opted to use this instead. It worked great. Popped all the ingredients in before we left for the day. When we came home, the smell of delicious soup filled the house and it tasted as good as its aroma. The pot was easy to clean (being mostly liquid) except for a little ridge of dried soup at the top where the soup had evaporated. That took a bit of scrubbing. Next, I roasted a large chicken. That came out great -- moist and flavorful and a nice golden brown color. I was not sure if it was done (I expected to see a darker brown) but when I temped it, we were right on the money. It also did not heat up the house (which in the summer will be a big plus).The pan had some stuck-on areas that seemed to require more intense scrubbing. After we let it soak for 20 minutes, though, the stuck areas came right off.All in all, I am very glad to have this cooker join our arsenal of small appliances. I had considered getting an Instapotut. But, this cooker may take care of what I expected to do with that! This cooker is well made, was packaged by the manufacturer so it arrived in pristine condition, and it works great.

Sunvivi 8-Quart Slow Cooker with Self-Basting Lid is a great versatile roaster/slow cooker. The range is great as it allows you to roast dishes as well as slow cook. I tried whole chicken on it and it cooked it fairly quick with a bit of crisp and browning of the skin. I also used it to make a birria recipe with some chuck roast and it came out excellent. This is a great cooker and highly recommend it.

i have a 16 quart cooker and love it for cooking large turkeys or hams. this one is perfect for cooking regular size whole chickens or other meats, such as a large roast, or large ham, and so forth. it works just like the 16 quart but is just smaller. it is a great alternative to using the oven.
