The material is soft and comfortable as well. They are a very simple, straight leg pant and in the black color they are very classic. They would be great to wear to work and can be worn with a button down shirt or create a more casual look with a polo. Perfect pants to wear for many occasions! He is just over 6 foot tall but a pretty slender build. Typically I’ll buy a 32 32 and that is what I purchased. Trying to find pants that fit in the waist and height is challenging but these pants were great. I was impressed with the quality material. There was enough give that allows for movement without feeling restricted. They are comfortable enough to wear all day. The pants are also versatile enough that you could dress them down or up. My husband said the waist is a little tight. The pants are advertised as straight but my husband felt they were more on the skinny side. The pants are a stretchy material. These sizes aren’t consistent Bought my son a pair and they fit great. Bought another pair in exact same size and they are huge. Other than that they look great if you get the right pair
