This seems to work well. My old meat thermometer broke so I can't compare and speak to accuracy, but the temps I get appear at least in the realm of possibility based on my cook time and meat "doneness". I had a little trouble getting the probe out of the handle, but other than that I like it.

What a handy, easy to use, take anywhere temperature probe. Best use for me is on the grill when grilling randomly sized piece of chicken or meat. Pretty quick readout and because of it's folding design, can be used at various angles! Powered by a AAA battery you don't have to worry about playing "find the button cell battery game." It's waterproof making it perfect for camping use and easy cleaning in between tasks. I got my probe in red making it easy to find. For under $10 and a battery included, you can't go wrong with this convenient probe!

The media could not be loaded. This is a pretty neat kitchen necessity. You can turn it on by pressing the button or by simply pulling the metal thermometer out of its storing position. When you press the hold button for 8 seconds, it will calibrate (using the ice slush method listed on the instructions) it so that your measurements aren’t accurate. You can change the degree reading from Fahrenheit to Celsius. You will need one AAA battery to operate this (batteries not included). It stores away nicely and is compact like a pocket knife. I would definitely recommend it.

We ran a comparison study of three digital probe thermometers and found this one the most practical since it can be used for indoor stovetop cooking as well as meats in the oven or on the barbecue. It is simple -- you fold out the probe and test the food with it. It registers quickly and is accurate.

I have a fancy thermometer that I use when doing large roasts and such, but I also need something I can get a quick read on. I had one just like this for years before I killed it by dropping it in some water. :(This is a perfect replacement. Quick to read the temperature, stays on my personal default (Fahrenheit), and turns off when you close it. I seriously have used my old one for so many things including getting temp readings on a split unit A/C that needed new refrigerant, and even checking soil temps. You can't go wrong with having one (or more) of these in your home.

Good solid product. A little bit slow but sturdy
