The good is that it is easy to set up, and grows quickly. It is however a lot smaller than expected. You also have to watch the lid closely. It does not screw on well.

Granddaughter liked it but it got moldy fast

This kit only came with a usb cable. I connected it to my phone charger and it sparked. LED no longer worked. No instructions on this. Also, I would like to point out that they did come with more than enough dirt, and rocks.

My son loved putting it all together and watching it grow as the days went by, but that's it. Not much more to do with it...

Our 3 year old loves it. We had fun putting it all together. We water it every night and within couple days, it started to sprout and grow. Only issue is the led light goes out very fast. Doesn't last throughout the night. Need to charge everyday or keep it plugged in.

Cute idea for gift but the light stop working after 2 days ! I guess we will put it in the sunlight during the day .

The plants that did grow barley grew and died right away. I have tons of plants... I have bought already started as ones I have grown on my own. For a child it was such a cool idea and my son was super into... the little bit that gre left just sprouted and died. Maybe old seeds? I don’t know but we followed directions and I know about plants. Just don’t happen.

This is such a cute non-tech item for kids. It was easy for my 4 year old to make, the directions were very clear, the accessories to make it were awesome. My only complaint is that our lighted lid doesn’t hold a charge. We charged it the first night we unwrapped it but it will only stay lit when it’s on the charger. So that’s kind of disappointing. Overall, I’d still recommend a terrarium to kids, maybe not this particular one though.

This was a cute little project, but my kids were very disappointed with the “glowing” aspect. They said the glow-in-the-dark sand was the part they were most excited about, but the amount in the package did not make a layer like you see on the box - it was less than a quarter of that, so you can barely see it in the dark. I’d recommend buying some extra glow-in-the-dark sand and making a thick layer.

I bought this as a gift for my kid. She decided use it for a show and tell. It was very well received. We also had a great time working together. The reason I gave this a three star is because I was not happy with the lid. The lit doesn’t fit well and cannot be screwed on tight. The container fell while she tried to carry it and dirt spilled everywhere. My kid was upset and we had to start the project over again. I was also puzzled as to why the lit has star shaped holes. A true terrarium is supposed to be fully enclosed to trap the liquid inside so it doesn’t need to be regularly watered.
