The sound went out on my 10 year old (appx) LG flatscreen tv and I tried everything to get the sound back but it was 'dead in the water'. Figured I'd try one more thing, an external sound bar and picked this one, despite the negative reviews and it did the trick. I now enjoy great sound and get to keep the LG tv that I really like a lot. I don't use the remote so I didn't rate it. This tv is in my bedroom and the sound bar quality is equal to the sound quality from the internal speakers perfect for my bedroom viewing needs...:-))

I'm not entirely sure what people are having issues with when it comes to sound quality. It may be they are not using the correct settings on the TV or have an issue with the wire going between them. I'm serious when I day I've had several times where i had to mute the TV using this because I wasn't sure if the sound was coming from the TV or from outside. It may be them having a bad one off the line, but when you get one that is good. It is great. I would like to say that the light indicator for the volume needs to be.. much better. Using 3-5 dots that get dimmer or brighter as an indicator is something I've seen before and should never have happened in the first place.

Just installed our sound bar and have been using it for about a week. So far so good! We can hear tv better because the sound comes outward and not out the back. We have adjusted the settings and can hear the bass, although it's not like your big, surround sound systems, but you can hear the difference between the regular tv speaker and the LG Sound Bar. We can hook it up to Bluetooth if we want, but we're just happy to hear tv better!

The LG tv was running with the internals.Had to keep turning up and down the volume.with this I can keep the speaker at about 15 - 18 and no problems. No going from you cant hear anything to the next commercial sounding like a jet taking off in your back yard....
