[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sony INZONE H7’s - Wow! The Gamer’s Gem Wireless Headset. After using the latest Sony PS5 wireless headset that set the bar from the previous gaming headsets in our home, myself and my son unboxed the new Sony INZONE H7’s. While we look for many features that enhance our gaming experience it is vital for us that the headsets are comfortable particularly when using them for long periods. This is where the H7’s have been the most comfortable and perfect fits in all we have used. The soft headband cushions are extremely comfortable and the adjustment feature is perfect to fit anyone. The ear pads are so cosy and what a must have feature for hours of gaming. The microphone is excellent and has a great but simple feature allowing you to talk by dropping down and in the up position when you want to mute! We use various games and during this time the feature was absolutely fantastic in regards to the sound wow! This allowed us to have the opportunity to be able to 1st of all experience the incredible base feature as well as the enhancement of low-frequency high-frequency particularly during gaming. The wireless headset itself allows you to feature I’ve been able to as always use your headset without having to use a cable this may seem simple but these headsets are incredible when it comes to making sure that you don’t miss a beat and you’re fully synchronised within the game. Many features are included but what I would say is the comfort throughout the entire time that we’ve been using the headset has very much set the headsets separate to other headsets both wireless and wires that we have used particularly in regards to comfort and the ability to engage with other gamers during your experience. What very much stood out was the sound … Wow! Especially during music soundtracks as this is something we look for in a premium set of headphones. You’re gaming experience and phenomenal sound is supported by a razor sharp spatial acoustic sound that allows you to embrace the stunning sound from each song tracks for various games. These wireless headsets are the must have’s in our household and it looks like Sony have produced a gem once again!

It is capable of handling audio input from both sources simultaneously. • The Earcups are fabric but are comfortable to wear for extended gaming sessions. (my ears didn’t overheat!) • The Inzone H7 is compatible with the Playstation 5’s on-screen status notifications. • The battery life was impressive, I managed to get just under 40 hours (39.5 to be precise) Out of the box the Inzone H7 connected effortlessly with my Dell Inspiron 7506 2in1 laptop. The H7 gave me a totally immersive listening experience. As with the recently launched LinkBuds S (which I reviewed earlier this month) the H7 offers 360 Spatial Sound Personalizer, which analyses the shape of the ear so I could better hear the distance and direction of opponents in games. This is meant to provide an in-game advantage, but sadly it didn’t improve my scorecard! At low frequencies the powerful bass made deep sounds like explosions and car/plane engines sound incredibly lifelike. I particularly liked the design of the microphone which I allowed me to place it close to my mouth. The software* (Inzone Hub Version1.0.3.0) allowed me to customise the H7 listening experience by customising a wide range of operations to my personal preferences, a variety of sound and hardware settings allowed me to fine tune the sound frequencies using the EQ feature to achieve more clarity and greater immersion in the games. This was my first experience using a gaming headset and I wasn’t disappointed. * Inzone Hub Version 1.0.3.0 not available for Mac at the time of writing this review. 360 Sound Personalizer is available for Mac and Windows 10/11

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found Sony’s new Inzone H7 wireless gaming headset to be beautifully designed and supremely comfortable to wear for long periods. These headphones, weighing only 325 grams, have a broad, conformingly cushioned headband which distributes weight lightly and evenly and soft, close-fitting earcups with volume, microphone and USB charging controls on the left side and power, Bluetooth, and game/chat balance controls on the right. A high-quality, bidirectional, easily shaped microphone is located on the left earcup – off when positioned vertically and on when horizontal. A very useful feature is the Game/Chat function allowing game noise to be reduced and the talk function increased both for gaming allies and telephone calls. One full charge provides up to forty hours of continuous play with a ten-minute boost yielding another full hour of gaming. These innovative design characteristics are surpassed only by the headset’s wonderful sound quality. Installing the Sony Inzone Hub software on a computer, and linking the headset with the transceiver supplied, permits a constellation of specialist audio enhancements, all derived from Sony’s sound research, including selecting and customising the Equalizer settings, adjusting the dynamic range, and setting the spatial sound. For example, in gaming mode, 360-degree spatial sound may enable one opponent to sense the presence of another even before they are seen. In my experience, setting both the bass boost and the spatial sound to on, and the dynamic range to high compartmentalises sound with stunning clarity giving clear, crisp high frequencies, powerful bass effects and a sustained, authentic, distortion-free midrange. These many features far outweigh active noise cancellation which is unavailable on this headset. Older audiophiles will certainly appreciate the online help and support for this product available on the Sony website as well as printed materials in ten different languages. In summary, not only will the H7 headset provide a fully immersive adversarial experience for Play Station Five gamers, complete with realistic explosions and gunfire, but in moments of tranquillity the warm stereo textures of recital, concert hall and operatic performances will be also equally enjoyed by serious music-lovers.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Inzone H7 Wireless Gaming Headset incredibly dealt a heavy blow to any restrictions the tech world may have now. With the YY2965 transceiver included in the box, gaming on my Windows PC became an incredible experience. Simply connect the transceiver to the USB port of the PC. Even a pin drop is audibly clear, boosting the gaming experience beyond the screen. When Sony WF-SP800N hit my ears in 2020, I had told myself it will be the last headphone (be it for sport or gaming) to bet on, the Inzone H7 has unarguably boosted that experience, boosted what today's gaming entails. The very details, rain drops, the breathing of the characters, footsteps are realistically clear. Here is another thing I found out recently. I have the H7 connected to my PC, and to my Sony XPERIA 5 III 5G android phone. While seated in front of my PC, a call came to my phone, the H7 took the call loud and clear with the voice-focused microphone. When I was done talking on the phone, the PC game booted up, and the H7 was also transmitting to my ears immediately the call dropped. So, when the Inzone H7 is connected to multiple devices, and I am sitting amid these devices, any of the devices produces sound first- be it calls, or games or music, will be picked up first. It means, I do not have to connect and disconnect one device over another. Just start whatever you are doing on any connected device, once it notices a sound, and there is no other device producing sound at that point, it picks FAST- first come first serve. This is an incredible experience, exceptionally brilliant. The comfort it provides while wearing it, is a top-notch. You can cancel out the noises around without being completely shut out (I personally want to be always aware of my surrounding), so I love this experience – I am into the game, I am also very much around. Its been three days after the first charge, and it is still going. I do about 4 hours gaming per day so far.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Sony H7 is a gaming headset with full in game chat capability. So how does it fair when used for gaming and non-gaming use? Packaging I am pleased to say the packaging is good and protective of the headphones whilst in transit. It’s nice to see that no plastic is used in the packaging. You get the H7 Headset, one USB type-C and a USB transceiver. Instructions. There is a quick set up consisting of 3 steps, step 1 being the QR code to get you to the Sony manual for the H7, which is either via web or PDF. I tried to connect the transceiver to my Sony tv and whilst it worked the sound was too low. I decided to read the instructions, and I found that it is only suitable for PC or PS5 as it the 2.4GHz. The instructions on the PDF are pretty good. Usage They are big, or should I say bulky compared to my current Sony headphones, but they are over the ear headphones. That said, they are super light! The cushion around the ears is soft but seems quite tough. The only thing I would say that in extreme heat it did get a bit sweaty but that’s not surprising. The Wi-Fi USB transceiver has a little switch that is for PS5 and PC, I would have liked that to be a different colour to stand out better. Also, I think there is potential problem using it with the PS5 in that when you plug it into the PS5 you are told to insert it into the “front”, but it sticks out a bit so if you are not careful, you could knock into it accidently and potentially breaking it? Connecting it to Bluetooth is very straight forward, on the PS5 and Sony TV. I have also paired it with my iPhone (though I had to reset the headset to get it transmit a Bluetooth pairing sequence). The quality of the call is amazing both what I can hear and what the other person can hear! First time I’ve been able to do this properly and with high quality. You can use the headset with the iPhone and a PS5 (using Wireless transceiver) and seems to work nicely side by side! I would have liked the Bluetooth and power on buttons to be coloured coded as per the volume control as I keep pressing the Bluetooth button and not the power button. Sound I have tested this on a TV, PS5, Laptop and iPhone. TV using Bluetooth (AD2P): I watched a film that had a big soundtrack and lots of explosions, I didn’t see any sign of sync problems. The sound was very good, and they might not be noise cancelling but they certainly do a good attempt at it. The atmosphere generated from the sound was stunning I have to say. PS5 using Bluetooth: I was not expecting there be any problems with the connection or quality, and I was not let down. Once again everything was connected quicky and then the gaming commenced. I tend only to play single player games so never got to use the mic (but I did on the iPhone). The sound is once again stunning, played a world war game, and the atmosphere generated from wearing these headphones makes the game even more tense! I like the fact it also has some hearing safety features to stop you raising the volume to high. When I played a football game the background music in main menu is crystal clear. I have tried the PS5 with USB transceiver and I don’t believe it made it better or worse, but I think it would help with FPS Games played online. Laptop via USB Transceiver. To test this, I played a couple of games, like the PS5 the quality was perfect. Now, music… I love it! The noise reduction from “outside” the headphones is unreal. It sounds so clear, and the bass is just right. The INZONE Hub software is a nice extra, with a graphic equalizer, Spatial sound and Dynamic Range. This software is easy to use and allows you tailor how you like to hear your music. iPhone via Bluetooth: At last, I have a proper headset and a decent mic! After an issue in pairing (I had to reset the headset, and it paired it straight away) I made my first call, I was surprised how clear it was and the person I was calling said my voice was clear. In summary I believe the H7 Gaming headset is more than a gaming headset it’s multipurpose headset and mic that delivers a true sound.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first thing that I noticed with this gaming headset is the high quality packaging it was presented in. The headset was very well packaged to protect it from transit damage. In fact, I still use the inner box it was shipped in to store and protect the headset when not in use. This gaming headset has a top quality feel and the ear pads are luxuriously comfortable to wear. It’s easily adjusted to fit the head and forms a good seal around the ears without any uncomfortable pressure, making them suitable for long term gaming/use. There is a ‘flexible stem’, or boom microphone as Sony call it, attached to the left ear cup which is fully adjustable up, down and in or out. Raising the boom microphone will turn it off . On the rear of the left ear cup there is a volume control wheel that is easy to adjust. I find this really good because it is easy to locate without having to blindly fiddle around behind the left ear cup to adjust the sound volume. There is also a USB-C charging connection on the bottom of the left ear cup. On the bottom of the right ear cup there are three buttons, On/Off, Bluetooth and Game/Chat. The set-up is really easy to understand, and even me as a pensioner, found it quite intuitive without the need to look up too many instructions. On my pc for example, it was simply a matter of plugging in the USB transceiver, selecting pc on the transceiver and away you go. You can also use the Bluetooth function to connect the headset to a pc, laptop, smart phone or TV. It is also possible to connect by Bluetooth to a smartphone and make calls while connected to a gaming pc through the USB transceiver. When gaming the sound is outstanding, and although I am no sound engineer, I found the spatial awareness characteristics of this headset gave a very realistic experience of being right in on the gaming scene. It allows you to be totally immersed in any game. The bass sound and balance were spot on and the insulation from outside noise is excellent. After three hours of use the headset was still very comfortable to wear and my ears were still quite cool. Sony quotes 40 hours of use on a full charge, and although I have had about 35 hours of use so far, I have no reason to doubt this figure. Overall, I loved this headset. Great value for money. I was particularly impressed with the comfortable fit and the superb sound quality while gaming or just relaxing and listening to music. An extra bonus was that you can plug the headset in to charge while still gaming.
