The remote needs to be pretty close to the train engine to work, but otherwise this is a wonderful holiday toy. The figures are great, the tracks come together easily, and the train is the perfect size for around the tree.

DO NOT BUY. I bought it, it was defective. Returned it and got a new one: defective again. My kids are disappointed. I’m tired. Now I gotta hunt for a train after I return this again… DO NOT BUY***

the remote wasn’t consistent with when it wanted to connect to the train. i feel like for as much as this costs it should be consistent. we ended up returning it. i’m so sad!

Returned it because the remote did not sync up to the train correctly. I had to press the on buttons many times before it would even work. The other complaint is that it’s cheaply made. The train would fall off the track after a few rounds. I wouldn’t recommend at all.
