While the other reviews are correct in that this requires the use of an app to setup I have found this kit very useful to help control lighting in my office area with the touch of a button. Setup was simple and easy and I have not needed to use the app since setup.

Totally works! This kit has a remote and a light bulb, you need to download the app in order to set up the remote. Once it’s set up, you can control the light from your phone or from the remote, no more getting up just to turn the lights off!

The set up doesn’t work. The remote is faulty. It requires you to download and use the app (when you are paying for a remote, that costs an extra $30 than if you buy the bulb alone) and should probably allow you to not have to deal with the app since you have the remote instead. The set up is overly repetitive, and ultimately doesn’t work. This is a poor piece of technology. I’ll be returning it tomorrow.

Total junk. I would expect (and have experienced) better app and sync capabilities from a kids toy. I Bought this…takes 10-15 tries just to link to WiFi. Then another 10 or so to link the device (bulb), then 6-8 tries to update the firmware. That was just the lightbulb. Repeated the process with the remote…the remote wouldn’t update so I figured this was the issue. Exchanged it. I’m on my SECOND one. Same issue. 40+ “try again” clicks and Remote finally updated the firmware, but it still doesn’t work. Deleted remote, reset remote, painfully added it again, painfully updated it again. Nothing. This is the worst product I’ve ever purchased from a known brand name. Ever. Returning this immediately.
