David's don'ts
I was looking fir a hat with the cooling beads in it, the hat that you wet and the gel cooling beads swell up.

I wore this ONCE to mow the lawn. You'd think a "cooling hat" would be made to handle a little sweat, but no. The snaps completely rusted out, and that rust is bleeding into the surrounding fabric. Sure, it's still functional for lawn work. But I'd hoped to wear it for group outdoor activities as well, and now it looks trashy. It would have cost THEM just a few pennies more to prevent this by using marine-grade stainless snaps, or at least brass, bought in bulk. It will cost ME at least half the price of the hat to get proper replacement snaps in small quantity and the punch to install them. Plus rust remover to clean the fabric, and the time needed to repair. I am not impressed.
