My husband needed a new sun hat to wear on our honeymoon. The hat itself is great and fits perfectly, however, the buttons on the sides rusted immediately, discoloring the hat. It is still useable, but be aware that the buttons are not waterproof/resistant and will rust.

Hat is lightweight and protects well against the sun. The mesh allows for heat to escape from the head and when there is a breeze it cools your head even more. Only 3 stars cause this floppy hat has the head part designed too deep. Looks funny and it slides down to far once you are out working and sweating. I use mine around the yard only.

I imagine this hat gives great sun protection. The brim is large and I was shaded. But I couldn’t leave it on very long - even with the mesh area in the brim, the hat was much too heavy and hot to wear while gardening in the middle of the summer. Sitting at the beach? It would be great! But I couldn’t stand the weight while I was working outside!

I like the hat, except for one thing-- which is very flawed in the photo. See the long strap shown in the picture? I like those being long, so if I'm indoors or don't want to wear the hat, I can loosen the strap and let it hang down on my back. Not with the hat they delivered. The strap is fine for tightening to your head, but not nearly long enough to drape on your back. It only goes as far as the back of your head-- okay for a pillow but not a way anyone would want to walk around. I guess I'm going to cut the strap and find something to make it longer. As it is, while it's great in the sun, it's a liability elsewhere. And I really hate when "product photos" don't show you what you get. Too bad!
