EDITED: I wore out the first one (had it for several years) and I've replaced it and added one for my desk at work and the car!! This is still THE best cushion for my wheelchair I've found. I've been using a big combo gel/memory foam cushion and about every 6 months it will split and ooze gel all over (can we say "EWWWWWWWWWWW"). I ordered this simply because I was a bit desperate for something "different" -- and I thot maybe the opening for the coccyx might be a good thing (I also have severe sciatica). Got it and it was so light - my husband looked sideways at it like I'd lost my mind. But dang -- THIS WORKS SO WELL!!!! It doesn't look like it would but it absolutely does. I also had a feeling it would be a pain to sit down 'centered' over it -- but again, I was surprised!! I have less "adjusting" to do than with any other seat. I am absolutely loving this cushion!!

My grandfather is 92 years old and has a bedsore on his lower back. He sits upright all day in a chair and when he isn't sitting he is laying down. When my grandparents got this pillow they loved it. My grandfather saw instant relief and he was able to sit with no pain. The bedsore has actually began to heal with all of the pressure off of his spine. I waited a little longer to write this review to see how the pillow would hold up and it is great. My grandfather sits on it all day and has not once said anything about it compressing and not returning to form or anything. It may be a little pricey but if you have an older loved one in your life this pillow is worth it to see the relief on their face.

I am giving this product five stars for two reasons. First, it provided real relief for a problem with my sciatic nerve. While it didn't "cure" the problem, it has greatly helped relieve the discomfort and I think has contributed to the gradual improvement that I have been experiencing. The second reason was the amazing good customer service that I got from the company. There are different density foams that are available and different color/fabric colors. The vendor helped me sort all this out and was so nice. I notice that at the time of my writing this review, the cushion doesn't appear to be available but I hope that it returns in the near future. Thanks for a fine product and excellent customer service.

In a poor attempt to save money, I had bought myself a terrible chair on Craiglist to use at my home office desk. It was flat, stiff and uncomfortable and I was having back pain within a week. This cushion has made a world of difference; I literally have no more back pain. I was worried about it compressing flat because I'm not a small person, but I haven't had that problem at all. It stays in place and holds its shape and it's like sitting on a cloud. My only problem is that my cat is always sitting on it because it's so soft. Would highly recommend!

I ordered this after I had surgery on my low back/sacrum/tailbone area. I take it with me EVERYWHERE I GO. It has been 7 months since my operation and I still use it about half the time. It cradles the back of my legs, which is important because I can still get nerve pain from the back running down the back of my legs. The notch in the back is essential because it allows your tailbone to sort of float without coming in contact with the chair you are sitting in. It did have a very strong chemical smell when I took it out of the package but, thankfully, that went away in a few days.

This seems like such a simple thing, yet it is amazingly effective. I was quite surprised. And, of course, very pleased. I have a vehicle almost 20 years old (Toyota, of course) and the cruise control went out about 6 months ago. Eventually -- from the extra effort my right leg had to make without benefit of cruise, I assume -- I started to get nerve pain in my right butt. It made driving very painful, and the resulting numbness lasted for days. I got this pillow hoping for just a little relief. I was amazed to get complete relief within a couple of days and now pain free. Thank you, Aylio!

I sit at a desk talking with patients most of my work day as well as medical charting, and then come home to sit at a desk and study for upcoming recertification boards, so I spend most of my time on my hiney. Having coccygeal pain makes sitting a literal pain in the butt. As a doctor, I can vouch for the medical rationale and efficacy of this little butt pillow. It redistributes pressure from the coccyx (end of the spine) to the ischial bones of the rear end where it should be. I feel a little silly using it at the office, but it really works. If I don't use it, I'm suffering the whole next day and squirming in my chair for a comfortable position to take pressure off the coccyx. A lifesaver for me, has relieved the arthritic coccyx pain I've had for quite some time without having to take acetaminophen or ibuprofen, or worse, a trigger point injection. Driving My wife’s Subaru always caused severe pain in my back and hip regardless the seat and steering wheel position. Using the cushion isn’t the most comfortable feeling but I no longer develop pain so that’s a good trade off.

I purchased this pad because I had Retinal Surgery which requires me to remain Facedown for 5 days. I knew that my kitchen, dining room, Nd desk chairs would absolutely kill my back...so I searched for something that would take pressure off of my lower back. This cushion did the trick. I am on day 5 of posturing after the surgery and I can honestly say I KNOW from experience that this cushion works. I has remained face down on cushion for 17 hours a day for past 4 1/2 days.

I purchased this for my mother who has been experiencing lower back pain. We have purchased other cushions and seats for her pain and we had mixed results with them. Therefore at first I was not sure this would work because of prior experience. However when she started using it she noticed that she was more comfortable using the Aylio cushion, more than the others used before. A couple of days later she said she was feeling great and was experiencing less discomfort from the back pain. That to me was success - I finally found something that worked in providing her the necessary relief and comfort. I also see the change in her demeanor as she is feeling better. I only wish I knew about this cushion before I spent money on others.
