Magnet is a little weak.
The magnets work, however, not well enough to hold a phone up while a vehicle is in motion. My phone continued to drop which posed a safety hazard while driving
I know this item leaves scratches on the vent but all other options are trash. This is the most convenient holder you can find. The magnetic back plates is much superior to the traditional clamps, which requires extra effort to mount on. Been using this many YEARS ago and finally came back to it.
