Every single package of capstar for cats has completely disappeared off the shelves or is out of stock, everywhere, but it turns out you can just use the small dog pill for a cat. It's the same dose of the same stuff, it just has a picture of a dog on the box. Seriously, look at the ingredient and dosage. Get the 9 pound dog box for a 9 pound cat. When you get back from the vet just give one to the cat so you don't bring home vet fleas.I was asked to rate the product on flavor. I gave five stars. My cat hates pills so she would rate it one star, but she actually took the pill, so that's five stars from me.

People never read the product info.It does not say it will kill fleas all day or everyone of them.it does say works in 30 minutes. It does.It says a added use along with regular flea treatments.

It took a little longer than 30 minutes to start working. But it works very well

I am used to the monthly oral treatments for my dog and this one only lasts 24 hours. Not economical. It does what it says though.

For reference, I have a 4lb yorkie and 8kb silky. It’s now mid January and we’ve been battling fleas since the fall. Every time we visit our family at the lake (in a heavily wooded area) they seem to get them again. Its been such a struggle! Topicals just aren’t working anymore. I’ve tried them all, combing with a lice comb several times a day, and baths twice a week, laundry yah-di-yah… ya’ll know the struggle. Im always so afraid to try any flea treatments because there are always reviews of pets having negative reactions. I would be so heartbroken if I was the cause of anything bad happening to my babies. So with this, I skimmed the reviews and had to take a leap of faith. I paid the extra 2.99 to have it delivered same day, that’s how over the fleas I am. I received the package yesterday afternoon, crushed the pills into pieces of leftover shaved steak, folded over. Of course they got plain bites before and after, because, of course ;) around evening I started the combing routine, again, expecting to find the usual couple I do after topical treatment but the only flea I found was dead! This is only maybe an hour or two after feeding them the medicine. I did not expect this to work! They haven’t scratched at all since and the pups are perfectly fine. I was so worried they would get sick or have a reaction, especially being so small. I have to be super careful. I’m grateful for this product and I know my pups are even if they can’t verbalize, they show through their actions and their ability to finally get restful sleep. Idk if they will get immune to this as it seems has happened with all other brand that worked in the past. But for now, I appreciate that they get this relief. The following evening I noticed them scratching again and did another combing. Found more fleas, not a lot and these were smaller so I’m pretty sure some eggs hatched or something, new batch but the medicine didn’t prevent them. I gave a 2nd dose and was doing well. Decided to save the 3rd and final dose of the pack (between two dogs) until 2days away, the weekend where we would be headed back to my moms.I gave them the final dose before leaving my house, as a hopeful preventative and in case any were on them I wouldn’t take fleas to her. They were at her house for the weekend while we went around visiting other family members. When I went to pick them back up Sunday, they needed a flea bath as soon as we got back home. Still not a lot of fleas but definitely didn’t prevent them from picking up more in her yard.Overall, I think these are probably great to be given as soon as soon as fleas are first noticed to possibly stop an infestation or perhaps after a weekly bath to break the flea cycle. They do phage their place and I’ll keep some handy in my flea killing arsenal. But solo I don’t think these are enough on their own. Hope this review helps others decide what’s right for them. The flea battle continues…

My shaggy golden retriever caught fleas in the garden. I used these caplets (one caplet = one dose, do not use all six at once!) In conjunction with one dose of the topically applied Advantix Flea and Tick - you can also use Advantage. I gave these caplets four stars because although they begin to work more quickly, I still saw fleas running hours later, but when I applied the Advantix, she was completely cleared of fleas within two days. This two-pronged approach did the trick. I also washed my dog (a must) BEFORE the treatments with Nature's Specialities Quick Relief Neem shampoo (that's just my preference, a soapy wash is key) and combed through her wet coat (I use the Andis Deshedding Tool but, again my personal preference) to gently to remove fleas and any eggs. If you use the caplets with Advantix, you can't wash your dog for a few days afterwards because you apply Advantix on the skin (topical).
