Honest negative feedback - 1st time, last time shopper

First and foremost – I find the “Tanga groupies” rather funny on this forum. The ones that immediately rush to defend, and in some cases attack, people who post negative feedback. Makes you wonder regarding the validity of the responses.

So let me relate my recent shopping experience so that other customers are not subjected to the same treatment:

On 11/25 I submitted an order for 8 rings @ $70.92. I received a tracking number via email on 11/27. Too bad this is not necessarily when the order physically shipped. It was when a label was made (I know these things because I am a sales manager for a small company). I emailed on 12/7 requesting tracking updates as none had begun. And my only positive feedback as to service is that I received an email back later on that evening stating that my order was en route. Too bad actual (visible) tracking on the order did not begin until 12/9. But whatever…

When I finally received my order on the 10th – it was HALF OF MY ORDER. I emailed customer service each morning for 3 days in a row. Clearly stating what rings I had received and which ones I had not. Thankfully they noted what actually shipped on the package label (which is not necessarily smart on their part as it lends itself to the possibility of theft). But I am glad they did so as here was, after 4 days, my wonderfully verbose and impersonal response:

Adam, Dec 14 11:24 pm (PST):
This order’s tracking information was delivered on 12/10 via USPS.

REALLY?!? This is customer service? After sending a very clear email stating my shortage, and essentially telling them I have proof of this, this is the reply I receive after 4 days?

The company I work for started out small. As apparently this company (Tanga) is. We have grown into a 30 million a year business in only 5 years. Why? Because we offer EXCEPTIONAL customer service. When we receive such an email from a customer – we immediately honor it. A $25 shortage on a $72 order is a no brainer to just reship rather than offend the customer by basically calling them a liar.

Anyhow – that has been my experience. Terrible. I can assure you that with service such as this, this company will not last / grow. But feel free to start the Tanga groupie flood.
