Enough grousing about pet peeves (well, not really) but I thought we should also have a counterbalance to the negativity…

I take the Metrorail to work every morning – and every morning (rain/shine/snow/dark/light) there are a couple of people standing at the entrance with free newspapers to hand out to those who want them….

They are ALWAYS cheerful, and friendly. The thing that really made the favorable impression on me, was one day, I saw one of them leading a blind person to the bus stop. I had the feeling that he probably does this on a regular basis.

That just made me smile.
