The Arizona chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI) named Matt Verbin, Tanga’s Chief Financial Officer, a finalist for the 2015 FEI CFO of the Year Award. Selected by an independent set of judges from Arizona’s business community and academia, Verbin was honored at a special event at JW Marriott in Scottsdale last night.

The CFO of the Year Awards celebrate the achievements of outstanding senior level financial professionals in Arizona. The nominations recognize CFOs for exemplary financial management, contributions to their organizations, and involvement in the Arizona business community.

Since joining Tanga as CFO in 2013, Verbin has used a combination of creative internal financing and cost saving methods to significantly reduce expenses and improve cash flow for the completely bootstrapped company. He is responsible for all finance, accounting, legal, HR, operations, real estate, insurance, and customer service functions. Recently, he has established a sophisticated business intelligence department, introduced profitable new lines of business, and overseen the move to an employee-friendly and modern facility in downtown Chandler, making Tanga one of the best places to work in Phoenix.
