I was really excited about this product. My 9 year old and Mom had a hard time putting some of the patterns together. Then, my 4 year old loves the toy. I things it pretty cool and it being difficult to put together means it won't fall apart really. My 4 year old has been crazy with it and it hasn't broken. So that is definitely a plus!

I had both of my children give me their opinions on this toy so I could gauge an age group. My 9 year old son said not interested and my 6 year old daughter grabbed the box and went to it. Her complaint was the yellow pieces and the fact it was motor vehicle based. She sat there for quite some time building what she said was a unicorn. I’ve found her playing with this set randomly quite a few times at this point. I’d love to see more options for builds and different sets.

This set is neat. It has a picture step by step instruction book, but I think it's too difficult for a 6 year old. I would say it's better for 10 year old kids. They can follow the instructions and make some cool vehicles, or use their imagination to create their own.

This was cute and an activity my husband and kids did together. My 4 year old lost interest quickly and my 6 year old enjoyed looking at the instructions and building the kit. Certain pieces fit together in a very specific way so my husband needed to be there to help her. She was very proud of her build. However when she came to show me her finished project and how the gears and build worked, it didn’t hold together long and pieces began to become loose and fall out of line. All in all, this set is great for a bit older kid and for a kid who is more interested in building than playing with the model.
