Even though the lamp seemed to work perfectly in the beginning, shortly after the first minutes of use, the two upper bulbs starting flashing. The problem is not fixed even though I changed the bulbs. But the design is nice anyway.

Like others, I had a bear of a time putting this light together, let alone putting it together straight. The first three or four pieces, easy as pie. Then the piece below the first light, a total pain in the butt. The for the better part of an hour I wrestled with this. No matter how slow and carefully I worked, the piece would get so far then flop around and I had to start again. Beyond frustrating. It's a total fluke that I managed to finally get the thing screwed completely together and properly aligned. Still not sure how I managed that trick. Once together, I couldn't get the top of the light to turn on. Have to turn it on full blast and say a little prayer and it will eventually light. Can only dim the top lamp a fraction before it goes out altogether, defeating the purpose of being a dimmer. Quite a beautiful light nonetheless.

I purchased the item online. When it came I was trying to put it together and could not. All the threads were misaligned and none if them fit together. I still like the look of the product so will return it in the hopes that I can get one that the threads are aligned correctly.

My husband & I ordered this for our nursery, and it would have been perfect except for the fact that it could not be put together properly. It comes in sections that must be screwed together (for those who are wondering, it can be put together by just one person, although a second set of hands would make it a little easier), but the first one we bought had one section that had crooked threading thus making it impossible to screw together. We took the whole thing apart and repackaged it (not an easy task!) and exchanged it for the same lamp, only to find that this one had the exact same problem on a different section. We forced it together as well as we could, but the crooked threading caused it to lean to such a degree that it wouldn't even stand up on the carpet without falling over. We will be returning this one as well and just trying to find another brand. It's a shame because this really is exactly what we were looking for.

One star for being a beautiful and one for good customer service. The lamp is beautiful and seems to be good quality but unfortunately the shade on the top is a very heavy glass and does not secure to the lamp. It toppled over within minutes while I was adjusting the cord and plugging it in and shattered all over the bedroom! I called Target customer service and they refunded my money with no problem and are not requiring me to return to lamp to a shore or ship it back - could not ask for better customer service.

I am really disappointed in the quality of this lamp. Right from the box the bigger lamp shade has chips and there is a dent in the metal part of the upper lamp shade and scratches on the lamp base and rod. The threads on the parts that screw together are rough and don't align well. The adjustible knob jiggles and cannot be tightened any further. The light doesn't adjust very well, maybe due to the knob, it is mostly either all the way on or off or it flashes on and off sporadically. It's a light and I needed a light and that's about all I can say that's good. I would return it but, once you've got it out of the box and together, you know how difficult that is so, you end up keeping it.

This lamp although beautiful has some major flaws. The first lamp I ordered came promptly but unfortunately the lampshade and one of the mechanisms to turn it on were broken. Target customer service promptly sent me a replacement but the replacement lamp pole would NOT for the life of me line up correctly. I should've listening to the reviews and not purchased this lamp at all.

Saw it in store but they only had floor model which they wouldn't sell. Ordered it online and sections would not thread together in a straight manner. Lamp was tilted and unstable. Brought it back to second store and exchanged for new one. Threaded together straight but when it came to reading lamp, 5 different bulbs would not thread into it all the way, so rendered it useless. Took back to store and exchanged for another one. This one was finally satisfactory, and love the lamp, but was very frustrated and a lot of labor in unpacking, packing, and returning so many times.

I read the other reviews about it not screwing on straight and thought I could handle it since I'm handy. NOPE - it's a systemic manufacturing defect. It's physically impossible, I tried over and over. I don't know what I expected for $50, but they could at least have done better than to make the base screw SHORTER and less stable than the others, as well. Also, mine arrived with a discolored piece and one of the knobs had fallen off and wouldn't go back on. I'm returning as soon as I can get to a Target because you can't return online, ugh.

My issue with the lamp was not that I couldn't get it screwed together properly. I took my time, and did it very gently after reading the reviews. Got it all together and then I looked at the base - - on mine the cord comes out of the base in the front where the daughter light is pointed and there is no way to reset it so that it's in the back - this is not a big deal if your lamp is behind a couch and you don't see the base but if you can see the base of the lamp, your cord has to wrap all the way around the lamp - just so aggravating. I tried 2 different wattages of LED bulbs that both said dimmable and lamp did not dim. Tried incandescent - no dimming. Lamp is going back. Disappointed because I really would have liked it if it worked!
