5 months into exclusive pumping and I’ve had to warranty two pumps because of battery issues.

I’ll be honest, I’m a first time mama so when I searched for “the best pump” medela and spectra where the top brands & I already have a s2 but it’s not portable so looking at how small and cute the swing maxi was i instantly purchased it thinking I got the greatest pump of all!!!….WRONG! i absolutely hate this pump. The highest setting is the ONLY setting that will semi work. After pumping I’ll get 1 to 1.5oz (if it’s not spilled with the short tubing and flimsy bottle stand) and I end up engorged and with a dead battery. My other pumps I’m able to get about 5 to 7.5oz at 3 weeks postpartum.

My first pump I got was a medela and it was awesome! Unfortunate my toddler dropped it a few too many times and it broke. So I decided to get another medela since I liked my first one so much. This pump is crap. It’s true, the battery dies super fast. It’s also has terrible suction! I have a very good milk supply and there are times I can barely get an ounce. I let honestly sucks. Don’t get it.

This breast pump has been working wonders for me for about a month but all of a sudden it died and only works when it's plugged in. The suction is not what it was when I first got it. I needed up buying a different brand pump and it sucks. This one really works the best for me but I do not want to have to buy a new one every month.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this breast pump to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing PaneL. I was very excited to finally have a compact and transportable pump. Unfortunately, the pump did not deliver. I was unable to express much milk, as the flange tunnels are very short and my nipples pressed against the end of the contraption. Also, the tunnels are not see-through, so I wasn’t able to see that the pump was not working until I stopped pumping and realized I made no milk. It is also missing a timer so I had to set a timer on my phone which I found inconvenient.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a twin mom that exclusively pumps, I was super excited to receive the Medela Swing Maxi as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I have two other Medela pumps and am very familiar with the brand. Unlike my other Medela pumps, this was the first portable Medela product I have tried. There isn't a screen display on the pump itself, but the Medela Family app made it easy to track my pump sessions and tailor my pump settings. I appreciated the compact nature of the pump and that it is light weight. However I do wish that the pump had a detachable lanyard to make it wearable because I would have to carry it around or put in my pocket. Per Medela, the rechargeable battery is supposed to last 1.5 hours--I found that to be false. My battery charge would last for about 45 minutes, so 1.5 pump sessions being that I pump 30 minutes at a time. I mostly found myself using that pump while it was charging meaning that I was connected to an outlet as if I was using a non-portable pump. The other main issue I had was the suction power. The pump comes with 9 pre-programmed settings. On the highest power setting, I don't feel as if the suction was strong enough. I was producing more milk at lower settings on a different brand of pump. That being said, with the short battery life coupled with the weak suction power I'm giving this pump a 1 star rating.

It was great at first, but after only a few months it's already not working. I have to keep it plugged in everytime and now that's not even working everytime. Very disappointed.

Poor suction. The longer you use it in a sitting it loses suction but even when it does suction it doesn’t pull as much milk as other pumps I have used. I have only had for three weeks so this shouldn’t be a problem. it also dies very fast. Having to charge every couple of pumps. I prefer medela freestyle or spectra.

I have been using this pump for 2 months and it was great! the problem started 6/3 where after charging the pump for 2.5 hours when I went to pump the red light came on and then the pump turned off immediately. I can only use the pump while it is connecting and charging. the app shows battery at 100% but as soon as I disconnect; the red light comes on and it auctions for a second before turning back off

Stopped working after 2 months. I only used it a handful of times and the suction is so poor now. Terrible pump!
