[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Medela Swing Maxi breast pump to try as a member of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. It is a great pump! I was really impressed with the vacuum suction levels and the small size of the pump itself. Since the pump is so small and lightweight, it was really easy to carry around, and I didn't have to sit next to an outlet for my entire pumping session. I do wish it would have come with a lanyard to have been able to hang it around my neck, as this would have made it the ultimate portable breast pump. The Swing Maxi was very easy to use. Turning on the pump put it immediately into letdown mode, which is great, but the letdown mode only runs for 60 seconds before changing to expression mode, which is too short for my needs. I used the letdown button to change it back for another 60 seconds, until I was ready to use expression mode (it changed back automatically after that additional 60 seconds). Hooking up all of the parts was very easy and I felt very comfortable using this closed system, as no breast milk is able to move past the membranes into the tubing. This also made cleaning the pump parts a breeze, and all of the parts fit together snugly. I am a little concerned that the breast pump manual only lists this pump as being able to withstand 275 pumping hours, because I am an exclusive pumper and already spend at least 2 hours pumping per day. I did not yet explore the Medela Family app, but I'm impressed that it can communicate pumping session lengths with the breast pump. Overall, I loved the portability and size of this pump! It had a great level of vacuum suction, was very easy to hook up and use, and helped me ton empty my breasts easily within my regular pumping sessions. I look forward to using this pump more on-the-go and when I return to work in the future.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife is a busy lady. She is a stay at home mom to three toddlers and pregnant with our fourth while working part time nights at the hospital. She almost never has a moment to sit, let alone sit to pump. She has been so grateful for this pump. She uses it with a hands free pumping bra and literally pumps while chasing the toddlers and doesn't think twice. The pump is so lightweight and portable and has a loop that she can attach to her belt to really be hands free. She says the efficiency is the same as her plug in pump, she hasn't seen any difference in output. The pump is also easy to clean after use and store, without a bunch of small parts to get lost in the process. Did I mention the parts are disherwasher safe? Best part! There is also a great app, the Medela Family app, that you can use to sink to your pump and keep track of pump sessions, output, feeding sessions, etc and all that information can be shared with family members. We found that helpful to keep everything organized and on track. All in all my wife is extremely pleased and I am happy that she found a pump that makes her life easier. The technology certainly has advanced since our first born. The Medela Swing Maxi is so small, and yet so mighty. It's surprising just how light, and portable it is. It literally fits in the palm of your hand. We are an on-the-go family, traveling often, and we are dual working household. Our littlest one is 11 months now and I was skeptical if this pump had the power to express milk like my super efficient baby. We were definitely pleased to see the Medela Swing Maxi compete with our other tried and true pumps. Here are the pros: it's super compact and everything fits easily in the small, neutral colored backpack provided. The backpack has an insulated section built in to store milk until you can refrigerate the milk. The pump has a USB charger, so if you're not near an outlet, you have other options to charge the pump. However, the battery lasted several days without needing a recharge. You can also choose to pump one or both breasts at the same time. Oh, and for anyone who has ever spilled precious breast milk before, you will appreciate this simple, yet smart "milk-saving" addition Medela has come up with. There are two yellow stands that give the bottles a wider base of support, significantly reducing the chances of the bottle tipping over. Yay Medela! The pump albeit small and portable, was quite loud while pumping. So while the machine itself was rather discrete, the motor was quite loud. I'm currently exclusively pumping for my three month old using this and a hospital grade pump. Because this pump is portable, I find myself using it in the car, at work, while doing laundry, and even while chasing my toddler around the backyard. It is definitely not discreet - you can tell that I'm pumping while wearing it. However, the stylish Medela backpack and bandeau bra make the pump hands free. I feel I'm producing the same amount with this pump as with a hospital grade pump, and I only need to charge it about once every 3-4 days (when using it twice per day). Cleaning is easy since the valve and the seal are one part. One thing I love is that the pump has a spot in the tubing where you can plug one side in to be able to pump on the other side only. This is invaluable when one side produces more quickly than the other side. I also love that it automatically switches from stimulation mode to expression mode. Another great aspect is that it comes with two different flange sizes, which is super important when pumping often. My one complaint is that you don't get a notification about low battery until you have about five minutes of battery left. This is hard when you're on a time crunch, like at work, and need to pump on the spot. If you're looking for a pump that gets you away from the wall and is small enough to carry around without it being a burden, I highly recommend this pump. I didn't even know I needed it until I got it, and now I don't think I could exclusively pump without it.

I received this pump through the Stellar Product Testing Panel and it couldn’t have come at a better time. I had been exclusively pumping for the last few months and between being stuck to an outlet several times a day or needing to lug a bunch of pieces and parts in several bags in order to be able to pump on the go, I was ready to quit and was already talking to my LC about how to transition and stop pumping. This pump changed all of that! It’s so portable and comes with its own bag, making transporting it or even pumping on the go so convenient. I have more freedom to pump while chasing around my little one or at work—I don’t feel like I need to wait for a nap or extra hands to pump since I can move around freely at the same time. I also love that I can track my sessions via the app to help keep me on track. This pump single-handedly saved my pumping/BF journey!

There are so many things I love about his pump, and as a previous exclusive pumper, I can be extremely picky! 1. I love that this is a closed system. I have steered away from this brand in the past because of the open system models. 2. I think the parts are extremely easy to clean. There are very few parts, and the parts are easy to wash both by hand and in the dishwasher. I like that the parts are larger than other pumping parts I have used in the past, so they are easy to find and harder to loose! 3. I like how small the pump is. It fits in the palm of my hand, which makes pumping on the go very easy! My new favorite thing is to hook up with a hands free pumping bra and put the pump in a sweatshirt pocket. It allows me to move around the house and get things accomplished while I’m still getting my pump done. 4. I love that it doesn’t need plugged into the wall. When I was exclusively pumping, nothing made me more nervous than a power outage and needing to pump. This completely eliminates that fear of mine! 5. This is louder than my other pump, but I am able to be on web call and pump without it being heard. That is a major plus for me! 6. My milk output stayed consistent when I switched to this pump. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Medela Swing Maxi pump is the perfect size for traveling and taking to work. The backpack that comes with the pump conveniently fits the pump and all the accessories and has a great thermal regulated/water proof compartment in the bottom for milk storage. Other pumps didn't come with a bag and I had to find one that would work, so having one made for just this pump is great! Compared to other pumps, the amount of milk I am able to produce is similar; however, I really appreciate the easy interface, minimal buttons, and the rubber on the breast shields that make the pumping experience more comfortable. I also like that the shields can be rotated, giving me more freedom and flexibility in positioning. Having a closed pump system is a must have for me to keep the system clean and I love that this is a feature of the Medela Swing Maxi. The ability to pump one or two breasts is also a needed feature and this pump makes it easy to switch and close off one pump line without impacting the quality of the other line. The provided bottle stands are great, especially for this mom that has spilled her fair share of milk when trying to quickly put things away after pumping! The components of the pump are easy to remove and clean and my favorite part is that they are top rack dishwasher safe! I love that this pump is battery operated, giving me way more freedom to pump on the go without worrying about an outlet. I also really like that this can charge in a USB outlet as an option. Because this pump is small, the timing feature is on an app instead of the face of the pump itself. Since I typically have my phone while pumping, this feature is nice and was easy to connect to the pump. The whole setup took about 2 minutes. It automatically tracks my pumping sessions when I initiate the pumping feature and press start and has a great "virtual milk storage" that I use to see how much milk I have saved and where in the freezer/fridge it is located. The app doesn't have to be used and the pump can be used completely without it, which is a great option if my phone isn't around. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to get the Medela Swing Maxi breast pump in the mail! I’ve always wanted to try a more mobile/hands-free type of pump. First off, the parts were super easy to clean and assemble. After charging the pump for about 2 hours, it was showtime! I downloaded the Medela Family app and connected the pump very easily. It‘a nice to have the app, but the connection kept on timing out so I probably won’t use it unless I want to see how much battery life is left. As far as the pump goes, it’s pretty discreet and compact. I love that when you first turn it on, it’s in the stimulation phase then after a minute it automatically goes to letdown mode (you can also manually change it on the pump/through the app). There are two sizes of breast shields that come with the pump - 21mm and 24mm. I love that they have a soft, flexible edge that you can rotate any which way to get the best fit for your breast. I was able to use the Medela Easy Expression Bustier to pump, which made for an even easier hands-free experience. I think this pump would be amazing for a working mom or if you have multiple kids and have to multi-task! It also comes with a backpack to easily transport the pump and store milk until you get to a fridge. Personally, I’ll be using the pump for traveling! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a first time mom and I am trying to breast feed and pump for my daughter. My journey of milk production has been a LONG one. Let me start off by saying I received this product as a stellar testing product, but I didn’t know how much I needed this product until now. When my daughter was first born my milk was delayed and I was not able to produce enough milk and I had to supplement with formula, which was hard for me. I was determined to boost my milk supply. After each feeding I would pump for 20 minutes day and night. After one month my supply was finally normal -yay! I felt better about pumping. It was important that my breast pump was efficient and easily to clean. Being stuck to a chair sucked, as my daughter got older ( 4 months now ) her feedings are now less and I pump 2- 3 times a day but for 10-15 minuets, depending on how much milk I can express. When I received this maxi swing mobile pump I was soooo excited to pump on the move. My husband and I recently moved and it was the perfect opportunity to use my pump. This pump has the same suction as your standard pump, has easy to clean parts, is light and you can get 3 to 4 pump sessions on a single charge depending on how long you pump for. This thing charges in like an hour so that’s cool and I feel I effectively and efficiently yield a good amount of milk.This is also compatible with the medela app, but I did not use it nor did I have the need. I also really enjoyed the freedom of being able to wash my dishes or simply walk around while pumping. It honestly makes pumping less dreadful( meaning you are no longer isolated from the world. . I received a bra that fit like a tub top, but it honestly was not that great it would constantly slide down, I recommend if you already have a bra, continue to use your pumping bra you own. I pumped while working, eating dinner, cooking dinner, cleaning, doing laundry you name it. I will say, caution when you bend over, if you bend over too far your milk will leak lol but that’s just gravity.
