This lamp was great until it wasn’t. The hinge is very weak, so you constantly have to re-tighten it to lift it back up if you don’t want it to hang low. Then, two nights ago it completely broke in half, which sent the glass slamming against the pole and shattered glass everywhere. Not to mention, it happened in the middle of the night and scared us to death! This is not sturdy and I would not recommend.

Wish I would have read the reviews before I purchased this lamp on a great clearance sale. In my estimation, the style is great, but the construction is flawed. It might work well on a hard surface floor, but the slightest nudge sends it swaying on our VERY LOW pile carpet. Given the other reviews that the glass shatters easily, I will return it to the store. As for the finish, the "brass" finish looks more like stainless in low light. It reminds me a little more of the antique brass finish in some mid-century modern pieces.

Like others have said it’s super flimsy and not well made. The tightening aspect is poorly made, so the lamp arm hangs incredibly low and falls when you attempt to tighten it so it’s taller. It’s also very top heavy, so it leans

It's so short. It's also flimsy and now I'm nervous it could collapse and shatter at any moment and hurt my kids or pets with the glass. It does not adjust to the height or angle displayed in the photo -- the horizontal bar is exactly that, horizontal. The bulb and shade will be at about chest height if a normal person stands next to it. I would return it but the crumbly styrofoam packaging makes it not even worth it. It'll be on the curb outside my house tomorrow morning if anybody wants it.
