Purchased one refurbished about a year ago and did not use it very much. Used some limited but free cell service Only complaint to make you aware of is that it does not come with a native dialer. This can be overcome by loading an app with a dialer: Google Voice, Wattsapp.... I used several, but mainly an Extension available from my Voiply account, a land-line service using VOIP. Took it to France and installed a local SIM to get cell service. Tablet worked there just fine for calling and GPS and maps on the go. Good display and sound.
