Great concept. This is a birthday gift to my 5yo. After setting up everything into place we found that the light is not working. Very disappointed at the quality. Since we already opened up the soil I am not going to return it. Waste of money.

Very flimsy...lid doesn't screw on but snaps...hard. Dirt moves when it snaps and things fall over. It's been over a week and finally it looks like grass is growing...three pieces...bad choice for a gift.

To charge the light is difficult and then two weeks into it the light broke.I purchased 3 of them and gifted 2, I hope there’s no problems there. On a positive note, Within three days I was able to get buds.

The light inside didn’t work. ☹️ If I had it to do over again, I would have checked to see if the light worked before putting it together to make it easier to return. Even if it worked, the battery is so small the light wouldn’t have been on very long anyway.

The product was delivered and packaging was fine. The box had the usb charger cord as shown, but the lid in the box does not have anything to support a usb. The light is useless with this one. It’s a great concept for children, but provide the correct pieces.

I bought this as a present for my nephew’s sixth birthday. I was setting it up with him so he could learn about plants and gardening when, to my surprise, the package had not brought ANY SEEDS. I looked and looked with my nephew to see if I had misplaced it and nothing. We finally concluded that the box never had the seed bag. So it was ultimately a failure even though we had fun assembling the terrarium (for no purpose whatsoever). Deeply disappointed.

I gave this as a gift to my 10 year old godchild. He sent me a picture of the terrarium as he was so proud of the growth. When I asked him why it was setup that way. He said when he and his mom were putting it together, they didn't come with enough river rocks and the light in the lid didn't work. The light was what convinced me to buy it. I felt really horrible for him. He loves growing plants. I am just very disappointed.

The light only works if it's plugged in. We let it charge for many hours. That ruins about 50% of the "fun" right there. As others have mentioned, the blue sand and rock barely make a visible layer. This is a lot like a pizza commercial that looks great but shows up a greasy, sloppy mess. Nice pictures, but poorly executed.

followed the instructions to the letter and nothing grew. We have grown plenty of other things as a family without issues. I got this for my daughter and she was very excited to have her "own" plant. Wrote out her own instructions and awoke everyday to make sure it was watered the right amount and the bulb was charged (but not over charged). She's pretty upset. Expensive thing for it not to work and be a jar of dirt basically now. Will have to go find appropriate seeds to plant I guess.

My young one had a nice enough time assembling everything and the seeds all sprouted, but the cover with the light is not necessary and definitely does not illuminate stars upward as the little bulb faces down! Wish I could find out what is in the packet layers and if the sprouts were edible. Next time we'll use regular sprouting jars and lids so that we can feel safe about eating what we grow.
