This an excellent portable, Bluetooth speaker. A few tips to keep it in great condition: Go into your smart phone settings and turn on music equilazer. Then with a song playing, find a setting that sounds best at 50% volume. (on my iphone, I selected "jazz" even though I was listening to an R&B song) Turn the Volume Limit to 'on' and adjust as needed. (This is to help prevent blowing out the speaker at higher volume)

The sound quality is surprisingly high. It doesn't just get loud; it sounds great at high volume. But the price is rather extreme. It has remarkably better sound quality than the Anker Soundcore, but costs nearly 3x as much. If Anker had a way of linking their devices they'd be a no-brainer competitor, but you're still spending a lot more if that's your goal with the JBLs. I guess it all comes down to whether its worth spending that much more on bluetooth speakers when you can't just hard wire better, cheaper bookshelf speakers. Keep in mind, if you're interested in the waterproof feature, make sure your connected device is also waterproof for your safety.

I can't say enough about this speaker!! The sound quality is the best I've Ever heard. The packaging was great as was the quality of the speaker design. It's very sturdy, versatile and small and easy enough to put in my purse for safe keeping rather than leaving it in my car or golf cart or on the beach. I'm very happy with this speaker!!

I was hesitant on spending more than 20 bucks on a Bluetooth speaker. The first few minutes I was so blown away and was mad that I didn't buy a nicer speaker a long time ago. Anyway, sounds really good. The mono vs stereo debate doesn't matter from a small speaker. Also, you can pair 2 for stereo and space them appropriately. Durability seems decent, battery life is great. My only regret is that the newest one will be out in a few months... but I'll probably just buy another one of these at a discount.

This is a great little speaker and it really packs a punch. It sounds like a stereo. I like to hide it in my living room behind a plant or something and then I turn on soundscapes with running water and it sounds like there’s a fountain somewhere in my house. I loved it so much that I bought a second one. I can run the fountain as long as I want thru my iPad. And the second one I can use for music. Thru my iPhone… It’s a great piece for having a party you can move it inside or outside and it really has a great amplified sound. I definitely recommend good. Like I said I bought a second one.

I was between the JBL Flip 5 and the Bose Micro, so I decided to get both and try them both out. While I would have been happy with keeping the Bose (it sounded great too, really liked the size of it, and really liked the strap that is attached to it), I wound up going with the Flip 5 as the output just seemed to be slightly better than the Bose, more specifically with regards to the base and volume (the Bose did seem to be slightly "crisper", however). The Flip 5 also had a slightly larger bluetooth radius than the Bose on my phone. Either way, I don't think you can go wrong with either one (so don't overthink it like I did), but I highly would recommend the JBL Flip 5 to anyone looking for a bluetooth speaker!

Impressed is the word that comes to mind. It’s not a Sonos One or anything, but it’s a sturdy, portable, great sounding little Bluetooth speaker. I use it to listen to music and podcasts while showering, going on picnics, outdoor activities, etc., and it honestly gets far louder than I expected while maintaining good sound. I wanted something rugged that I wouldn’t have to worry about and babysit, and this thing fits the bill!! I bought one for my parents after mine came!

The flip 5 is the size of a thin 12” coke can. It meeting 95% of your needs. It gets loud enough. Won’t do the job every obnoxious party, but works great at the beach or pool, etc. My 18 year old loves this (volume vs size). We have an older charge 3, which is about the size of a fat 16oz coke can, the only thing the charge series does better is get about 25% louder. You only need this if your need it very LOUD!.

I purchased this for a friend after buying 2 of these for my bedroom and home office. Excellent clear sound with some bass from a tiny speaker. Trick is to place on solid floor and in corner of room or patio for more bass and volume. This thing also last at least a few hours of play and is perfect for taking outdoors with you to the park or beach. You can't go wrong with JBL.

Great sound and value. Upgrading from JBL Flip 2 and original jawbone jambox. Was looking in the $30-60 range but ended up choosing the flip5 since the flip 2 has never failed me. The sound is waaaay better than both Flip2 and OG jambox. I use it on my Lanai, perfect sound for all types of music. Hip hop, rap, country, alternative, classic rock, classical, electronic, show tunes all sound great. You can cheap out, or you can go high end with the smart higher end speakers (Sonos, bose, etc). but I think this is best mix of quality and value if you just want a high quality sounding speaker to pairnto your device.
