This reading pillow is absolutely NOT filled with memory foam shredded or otherwise. It is filled with cotton. You do not sink into the pillow. Any memory foam, including shredded memory foam, that I have ever used, you can put your hand in it and it leaves a mark, then slowly goes away, not with this pillow. Additionally, the height measurement is not correct. Sure, if you measure it from seam to seam then yes, it is 24” high, however, if you set it up and measure the height that is actually supporting you, it is 20-21” tall. The rest of the measurements appear to be correct. Overall, the pillow is not terrible, but not accurately described. I will be returning it as I want memory foam, not a cotton-filled pillow.

I bought this in preparation for recovery of an abdominal laproscopic procedure. When it came out of the bag it was understandably flat so I threw the pillows in the dryer (without the cover) to fluff up. They fluffed up great but when I sat in it, it was just too soft, and didn't have the support I'll be needing. However, a couple weeks ago I had ordered a dog bed for my dog that wound up being too small. The foam inside it was glued on crooked, so I took a razor blade to separate the three pieces. I planned to glue it back on, but thankfully I hadn't yet because it was PERFECT for adding to this! *Photos are with the foam inserts* The rounded parts fit perfectly inside the arms, and the rectangular piece fit into the back part behind the soft squishy filling. It is now really nice and plush against your back, but the foam behind it provides cushion and support without being too firm. I realize not everyone needs this much support, but with an iron rod headboard and inability to lean forward, I would have had to have someone help me finagle pillows behind this thing. I can't imagine the pain of trying to adjust pillows behind me, alone, with a -5 movement due to surgery. I would say it's expensive for the squishy support, but because of all the features (removable zipper, the washable cover, the removable neck pillow, and the handle) it was worth the extra $18.99 and hour of labor to make this perfect for surgery recovery. The dog bed I used was FurHaven Ultra Plush Luxe Lounger Orthopedic Cat & Dog Bed w/Removable Cover in SMALL (14x21x4). I put the thick part of the rounding on the outside of each arm. The thin part, where it tapers to be on top of the bed, I put on the inside because it keeps the arms from being pushed out. The rectangular piece I put in the back, behind the pillow this came with, because it was too firm and uncomfortable for me in the front.

Just wish it would have been more firm

I was hoping the other reviews were incorrect but they weren’t. The back rest material is super soft but it is entirely under stuffed. For the price, I expected it to be fuller.

If you like firm pillows like me, this is not for you. It is soft and comfy but the head rest pillow is way too soft that it barely provides any neck support.

I had a similar one of these 3 decades ago and it was pretty firm with great support. This one is really soft.

The item had more 'visual quality' in the picture. It was brighter than the picture, and rather low quality shaggy plush. It's fairly comfortable,, but is not allowed out of the closet when not in use.
