Like other reviewers have said, the strips do NOT stay up! I bought these lights thinking they'd stay up, unfortunately, they fell down a few times and the backing even got warped. Amazon customer service is amazing and they replaced the item (with a return of the "defective" lights) quickly and for free. On my second try, I utilized some 3M mounting tape and it's stayed up perfectly. DON'T use the foam strips that come with the lights, just use some mounting tape and you won't have to go through what I did.

Motion light has excellent response to motion. I ordered the yellow tint and it matches the existing closet light tint. My closet is set up with a dead man's light switch (which I hate). So when the closet door is opened the light comes on automatically. Due to house having a crawl space, the closet door needed to be kept opened from time to time. That meant defeating the dead man's switch to keep door open, then undefeating to have light, etc., etc. The only criticism I have is about installation. Having read another reviewer's plight, I took her advice and screwed metal plates to the bottom of a particle board shelf. To the manufacturer I would suggest the option of receiving a longer metal mounting plate with screw holes and screws. It would have been only a matter of time before the mounting stickers would fail on a particle board surface.

I have purchased many of these inexpensive motion lights over the past decades. This is the first one that lived up to they hype. It just plain works as advertised and solved a dark area that leads into our garage. no need to fumble for the overhead light switch. This solved a problem Follow up - Jan 2, 2022. Bought a second set of warm white and enjoy them as we did the first set. These will be used in dark areas of our RV.. ie: in cabinet under kitchen sink to lighten the pan storage area.

Updated review: Bumner ; After 5 months of use one of the lights won't keep a charge. I really loved my lights for under my kitchen cabinets. It will keep a charge with it plugged in the outlet . Once I unplug, it won't stay charged. :( I was skeptical to purchase these from all the negative reviews, but wanted to see for myself because a YouTuber who is honest with her reviews , recommended these. I have them under my cabinets in the kitchen. Absolutely love them. They have been under the cabinet for some time now. I have not charged at all , very Long lasting . They stay up under the cabinet , no drops or falls. Motion sensor works like a charm. One late night I walked in kitchen for a bottle of water , the motion sensor came on which caught me off guard , so funny I woke my son up. They work like a charm for me. Great product

Motion detection only works if it is very dim or dark in the room. Didnt know that when I bought it, but it is disclosed, so my bad. Otherwise, love it, and if the motion detection isnt working, it does have a manual on/off button you can use. Mounting Tip: I placed reinforced packing tape over the metal plate and taped it on instead of using the permanent attaching things they gave me. Magnets aee strong enough to work through a layer of thick tape. That makes the whole thing repositionable. However you mount it, the light attaches to the mounted plate by magnet, so you can take it down and use it as a handheld device at any time.

It couldn't be easier to charge, install, and use these lights. I love the warm color they give off and the fact that they're magnetic means no screws or damage, and they can go anywhere. I'm disappointed with the quality of the internal battery, however. We only get about 2 days out of these lights in motion detection mode in our kitchen before they start to dim, and it isn't even a particularly high traffic part of the house. If I can rig up a couple charging cables to them, I wouldn't have anything else negative to say.

I like that the light is unobtrusively thin with an even, uniform output (no individual LED's visible). It's fairly bright, not quite as bright as I'd hoped but usable. Caveats: As described the 'motion detector' works via infrared, not actual motion sensing. When I 1st mounted it in sunlight moving my hand under the sensor would not turn the light on (too much infrared present to distinguish my hand from the sunlight). Then later I noticed the light would intermittently turn itself on in the sunny afternoon. I originally mounted it over my gas stove and it would turn on when a burner was lit. In a dark location (cabinets, closets) it works as expected but be careful in choosing your mounting location as heat from lamps, stoves, sun, etc. will confuse it 2ndly as another reviewer pointed out the size of the metal plates for mounting via the double sided tape is irrelevant. There is no need for their size as the magnet in each end of the light itself is small (but powerful). My original mounting using the supplied double sided tape lasted one day when I noticed one side hanging down, the light about to fall. I resolved the issue by screwing two steel discs (with #6 1/2" flathead wood screws) into the wood corresponding to the location of the magnets in the light. If not for my abilities as a 'handyman' I would probably rate this light a 3. I gave it a 4 once I solved the motion sensing quirk and mounting issue I will update this review regarding battery life once I have some experience using it

Fantastic lights! We mounted them under our kitchen cabinets to illuminate a dark corner and a niche in the room that doesn't get much natural light and we are very pleased! The light is bright without being annoying. When using on or off mode, the lights remain charged for 2-3 months. If using the motion sensor feature 24/7 you will have to recharge them every week or so. We detracted one star from this rating due to the motion sensor feature. The light does not always come on when you wave your hand under it. We were so impressed with our first set that we ordered a second set to place under additonal cabinets and today I ordered a third set to place inside our pantry. The lights are magnetic and come with two metal, magnetic mounting strips with adhesive backing. You simply peel the paper cover off the adhesive backing, press the strips where you want to mount your lights and then place the light onto the strip. The magnets hold very securely and the adhesive is quite strong... even in humid weather this summer the lights remained firmly in place. To recharge your lights, remove the light from the magnetic strip, plug it into the USB cable (provided) and plug the cable into a USB port power source to recharge. It takes about an hour or so to recharge one light. Remove your light from the USB power source, place it back on the magetic strip and you're done. Easy to use. Gives great light. Holds a charge. very well. No messy power cords or expensive electrician fees. A+

These are great little lights. I put two in my small walk-in closet and another in the powder room over the toilet. They provide just the right amount of light so that I don’t have to flip the light switch on all the time. The only drawback is the double sided sticky tape doesn’t work great and they don’t provide extra. Plus- I discovered the magnetic strip is covered with a peel away light film of plastic that is not peeled away before sticking the tape to it. So if you put the stickers on whatever surface you want to place the lights and then press the magnetic strip to it and then put the lights in place it works fine for a short time . BUT after that I found my light had fallen to the floor because the sticky tape wasn’t really sticking to the magnetic strip but stuck the thin film on the strip which had peeled off. My advice is to look at the strip carefully and peel off the very thin sheet of plastic before applying the double sided tape.

Great little lights, but they only stay on a few seconds, even with continued motion. If I want to use as a work light, I need to turn them on. Fact that they can be recharged with a USB charger and they can easier be removed and used in another location makes them desirable.
