It Sharpens the Knives Nicely

I utilized this product for sharpening my entire kitchen knife collection as well as my kitchen scissors. The device is marked with an easy-to-read self-explanatory guide written on each gap. Your knives are placed in each gap and slide multiple times to initially score the blade and then into subsequent gaps until the blade is being sharpened to an OBVIOUS sharper blade. It worked with almost every type of blade, and the blades were finished with a noticeably sharper finish. I really like this device.

easy to use, stable and safe

I have limited use of my right hand and knives scare me. So keeping knives sharp is a safety issue for me. With that big handle, even I can hold this sharpener steady.

Good Product Great Price

My wife has been asking for a new set of knives, with this product we now have knives that are sharper than they were when we first bought them. I have used this on a few knifes in my kitchen and it sharpened them up nicely. It comes with clear directions on how exactly to properly use the product. This is the perfect size to keep in your kitchen drawer ready to use whenever you need it.

Good product

I like this product. It does everything described and does it well. It came well packed and the directions for use were clear and concise. It sharpened the knives and the scissors I tested quite well. Also, I found it to be very stable when placed on a flat surface, which is quite important when working with knife edges. I cannot review the wetstone since I have not tried it.I would readily recommend this product for those who like their blades sharp and do not want to spend a fortune to get it.

More substantial than my previous knife sharpener

I had previously purchased a smaller green knife sharpener but having large hands and working with sharp objects, I wanted something a bit more substantial. This one is about 1/3 larger than my previous model and I prefer the design better as well. Having multiple ways to sharpen multiple types of blades is very nice (including scissors!). I'd watch the product video so you have a good idea of how to use it properly. This should help you save your hands, your blades, and get even more use out of it.

Makes sharpening your knives a breeze

This knife sharpener does a great job on non-serrated blades. Holding it on a counter top, it sits flat and steady while you sharpen your knives. Whether left or right handed, it works great. I was able to sharpen 4 knives in less than two minutes. Working each knife 4 or 5 times through each of the four knife slots was easy and smooth. At the end, I was able to shave the hair off the top of my hand with the knives.I want to sharpen our kitchen scissors, but out of the 3 pairs 2 had one side that was serrated, so I could only run the other side through it. You only use the center scissor position. It did okay, but not good as it does on the knives. That did not prevent me from given it 5 stars. Its a nice addition to the kitchen.

Easy to get non-serrated knives very sharp

This is a small, light-weight, but effective sharpener that will keep kitchen and outdoor knives sharp enough for food preparation and general use. The 4 slots are numbered so it is easy to understand the four-stage process. I would recommend that you use all 4 stages each time you sharpen. The extra few seconds of effort pays off in sharper knives that hold their edge longer. Except for the first use on very dull knives, it takes little time and effort to sharpen even large French chefs knives. Six to ten pulls through each slot with relatively light pressure will suffice.I have a professional sharpening device, but in less time than it takes to set up the specific angle, soak the whetstones, etc. I can have a sharpened knife ready to use with this device. It does have a whetstone on the side but it is too small and awkward to get to to be of much use. I have not used the scissor sharpener yet, but even if I never do the knife sharpener is well worth owning.

Easy to use and it did the job

I selected this product as I have a very good set of kitchen knives that I have had for years and they are dull for sure. I thought I would try this and see how it worked on a few smaller knives. The sharpener came with very clear instructions and the sharpener itself is labeled very clearly. I had no concern following the instructions. I sharpened two small knives and a pair of kitchen scissors. All three items went from being slightly dull to pretty sharp. There was a marked difference when using the knives. The instructions say to use this sharpener every few months so I think as I continue to use it they will become sharper as I had ignored them for 10 years! The scissors also were very sharp and cut through paper in an instant. Looking forward to trying it again in a few months to keep these knives sharp.

Sharpens non-serrated knives and scissors effortlessly

I loved this sharpener. It features 4 different steps to sharpen- and if you go step by step, just as the instructions say, your knives will seem brand new. It has a place in the center that is for scissors- that's my favorite part. I had 3 or 4 pairs of scissors lying around the house that needed to be sharpened badly. It literally took about 2 minutes, using this sharpener and they are as sharp as they were when I first purchased them. Theres also a whetstone which makes it the complete package. Im right handed, but someone left handed could use this just as easily. The handle is very easy to hold onto while you're sharpening- it seems very safe as it doesn't easily slip out of my grip or from the table. It has a loop on the end of the handle if you want to hang it up when storing it. It's light enough be able to hang anywhere easily. Overall, Im very happy with this product. I'd definitely recommend.

A dull knife is dangerous; a sharp knife restores safety

A knife is a cutting instrument, so it has to be sharp to be ready for use. A dull knife is very dangerous because you have to use extra force when cutting, inviting slips and flesh-knife contact, where flesh always loses. If your knife is sharp, you apply minimum force which is key to knife safety, facilitates maneuverability, you’ll have no muscle strain, and it will work in any angle and position. I do amateur whittling where having sharp knives is a must. The same is for the kitchen: well sharpened knives will last longer and do what they are designed to do: cut. I tested TigerShark’s 4 stage knife sharpening process and the scissors sharpener. The 4 stage copies the professional knife sharpening process whereby once you have sharpened the knife, you only have to strop it which takes less time. In this case, you go through the process and, optional, the stropping can be made with the 800 grit whetstone that evens the edges and polishes the bevel. You can stop after using the 4 slots, and use the whetstone for stropping when your knife starts feeling dull. Great product, ergonomic design, easy to use, produces great results. I fully recommend it.
