Got this for my birthday. It was in my wishlist. It refused to connect despite the phone being right next to it. Finally got it to sync. Checked the app reviews and noticed that the requirement to “always leave the app running” causes battery drain (One of the reasons I always close all my apps immediately after I use them.) Ran some tests. Can’t hear it from the next room in a 975 square foot apartment. Received TWO SPAM EMAILS trying to get me to subscribe to their “service”. (No. How about you just do what you’ve already been paid to do?) It’s far thicker than the pictures show, almost TWICE as thick as claimed (four credit cards vs the two it’s claimed). Battery is good for only one year.All in all, I’m disappointed with this although I appreciate the gift.

I bought a pile of these things when they came out, 2 slims, mates, sport. around 20 in total. Over the last 2 years aside from the battery failures which is expected and which they offer a retile program ive experienced a 70% failure rate of one single failure mode across all models. The contacts to the speaker making the ringer sound fail over time, You can connect to it, but it wont ring. Sometimes it will make noise if you hold it and wiggle but this is hardly practical or possible in a "lost thing" situation. This has lead tile to fail me when ive needed it most. additionally the android app interferes with phone operation, randomly pausing music, and hanging up calls with a "tile disconnected" message on the screen, Ive reported the app to google for review as an app that "is harmful to the operation of the android device"additionally, support if you dont choose to pay the $29.00/year for premium support is atrocious. i gave up holding after an hour.

I love the idea so much I ordered a new wallet to make it work.... I have a carbon fiber wallet that was around $100 it's real carbon and blocks rfid. Unfortunately when I put the slim in my wallet I would have to be within 3 feet of the wallet for it to work if I take the tracker out of the wallet it works throughout the house. Today I chatted with a company rep and apparently tile is aware of the problem yet there is no warning posted anywhere. I feel that is wrong that's the reason for 2 stars it works great I'd you ha e the right wallet...

When inserted into my wallet the card''s sound is so soft I can't hear it. I'm over 70, so that is probably part of the problem, but everyone else in my family has trouble hearing the Tile Slim, as well. I have returned it.
