Print looks nice at first. Ink seems to run out pretty fast.

I bought a new HP printer, the Envy series and the ink that came with it, the tri color was OK, but the black faded out after a little more than halfway through the cartridge.I used the cleaning tool and it seemed OK until the next time i used the printer and the black was faded out again. I always print out a test page every few days to keep the ink from drying up but the black still faded anyway.I installed the new black cartridge a few days ago and I'll keep checking it to see if it fades out too.

After I purchased the HP printer I thought the instant ink program would drop the old HP, but I still get ink for my old one. I have tried to delete the previous printer on my HP page, but it won't let me do it. HELP

Bought as it is what this printer uses, and was cheapest price for the item could find at the time. Had bought before. Lasts ok, except one time when printer said ink was still there, but it would not come out. Had to stop to take out cartridge to get ink going again. Finally gave up and replaced. Have no way of knowing how well it lasts compared to other makers. The first set the colors were not so great, but subsequent cartridges have been fine. Just wish ink were not so expensive no matter who makes it.

It is the first replacement cartridge we bought. Not enough to form an opinion one way or the other.

Fresh cartridge works great, but if you're like me who prints maybe once every two months, then not the product to pursue. I usually have to reorder either the black or tricolor cartridge every time I need to print because the ink dries out. Even after performing all maintenance tips, the only way to receive a quality print job is to replace the cartridge. This issue did not occur for my previous HP printer. Time to find a different brand

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really upset because the first couple of copies came out smeared. I tried everything to find out what happened but it eventually stopped. Also, I don't use the color ink that much but with the purchase I got a sample of the colored ink. Once it ran out I was ok. But then I found out you have to have ink in both. NOT FAIR

The inks work pretty well when they are fresh. I don't use my printer every day, so the ink seems to become streaky after time, even though the ink levels appear to be half full. I need a printer/ink combination that is appropriate for casual home use.
