Moves when in a heavier gear

I love this little bike! Only thing I don’t like is that when I put it in a heavier “gear” the bike will move. Other than that, Im very happy with this purchase.

So far, so good

I gave it a Four but really mean Four-and-a-Half. This exerciser is very solidly made (and very heavy!). It would be an improvement to build in a handle on the top, to make it easier to move around. Requires assembly, but the instructions are very clear, six relatively simple stages. The pedal straps are kind of a nuisance, but that's common for bicycle-type exercisers, and they may improve with use. It's possible to remove them, but that is probably not a good idea. Takes some getting used to, finding an appropriate chair in which one can maintain an appropriate posture. No problem (or at least very little problem) pedaling one's way through a 90-minute movie! So far, so good.

I'm exercising again!

First, you need to know that I'm a fat old man. Really. I used to walk miles (I've done a couple of half marathons, walking) and used to bicycle further. I have a recumbent bike sitting in my garage. Now, though, age, arthritis, the pandemic, and my natural inclination toward being sedentary have worked against me. I thought about getting an exercise bike, but didn't want to clutter up the house. Besides, my sedentary lifestyle has me spending half of my time in the family room watching TV and half in my den watching internet videos. An under the desk bike pedeal exerciser seemed perfect. The reviews led me to the Deskcycle 2. I do one or two half hour sessions a day, The Deskcycle 2 is quiet, seems very sturdy, runs smoothly and is adequately adjustable (tension wise). I have two locations that I use it. It's not made for that. The machine is Heavy. I WISHI IT HAD A CARRYING HANDLE. Sometimes I like to stand it on end to decrease its footprint. That only works when the display is attached to the machine. The display connects two ways. One way connects it to the front of the Deskcycle (see the Amazon picture). Problem is I can't read it, or change to display in that mode. The other way is by a longer cord and attached toa stand that comes with the cycle. There are two things I wish were different about the display. 1. Don't drop it or shake it, or look at it sideways. If you do it will reset. One minute you've got 160 miles on the machine. Shake, and you have zero. 2. This would be perfect if the display a) was connected by bluetooth instead of a cable b) had a memory 3) could save or download history to my smart phone or computer.

The Real Deal

Ok, I'm an old guy and I ride my bike, practically, every day as part of my diet and workout regimen. I was looking for a compact but versatile bike peddler so that I could continue my exercise program. The first unit that I ordered (which I will not name) was not adequate in that it did not offer very challenging resistance settings . . . even for me. And it was comparably priced to this Deskcycle 2. That original piece of equipment quickly got returned and I gave it another try by ordering the Deskcycle. Glad I did!PROS:1.) PLENTY of resistance available to challenge 90% of the population!2) Extremely quiet.3.) Super-easy to assemble.4.) The Deskcycle 2 comes with a front height adjustment which I found to be very useful.CONS:And these are the reasons why a gave this product a "4" rating, although it's not the manufacturer's fault:1.) It was very obvious that this particular item had been returned.2.) The inner packaging was not as solid and secure as it was supposed to be, indicating that it was haphazardly put back into its box.3.) The tightening nuts for the pedals showed slight markings of wear from being turned with a tool.4.) No Owners' Manual5.) No Assembly Instructions6.) No batteries for the electronic readout7.) No assembly tool (although I'm not sure if that was supposed to be supplied with this particular piece of equipment or not).8.) One design 'short-coming' is that it does not have an integrated carrying-handle built into it. That would be a definite 'plus' as a potential improvement. In conclusion, I will say this: In spite of the negatives I've listed above, this thing is very well-built, very versatile in what its supposed to do, and works like a charm! It's a unit that'll provide plenty of challenge and (hopefully!) many years of use.

Four stars, but I'm returning

This was not that difficult to assemble, it's a little awkward but not difficult. Mine was very quiet. I work from home, and I don't have a big home. My office space is limited. This is a big piece of equipment, it's bulky and it's heavy. The only place I have to store this when not in use is to keep it under my desk. Due to limited space, I had to contort my legs, sit in awkward positions and all kinds of things to try and fit under my desk with this under there. I used it for 5-10 minutes every hour, but for the rest of the time I was not using it, it was very uncomfortable and in the way under my desk. For that reason alone I am returning it. Be sure you have room under your desk that you can move it out of the way when not in use. Mine is always directly under me and the positions I had to try and sit in while I wasn't using it were hurting my lower back and hips more than the Desk Cycle was helping me. I wish I could have made it work, it's a great piece of equipment.

missing App

It is well built and solid bike.Pros:1. more resistance than others2. longer crank which allows more movement of legsCons:1. No App. Cheaper other bike offers wireless connection to any phone. DeskCycle is way more expensive but no support of wireless App. Come on !!! these days every product offers App and wireless connection to App. A century behind…2. Expensive3. The strap is thin and no buckle but Velcro. Others provides 1.5” wide strap with a buckle which is easy to lock and unlock.
