My fiancƩ and I purchased the 5ft luminoodle alil before a camping trip we were going on for our anniversary in hopes that we would receive it before we left. Not only did it arrive on time, but earlier than the arrival date that was given to us. I decided to bring it out on one of the nights we wanted to play cards out on the picnic table in front of our camp. It was perfect! Was the perfect amount of lighting and was very easy to set up. My fiancƩ even made a comment saying that it may have been too bright since we had other campers somewhat close to us. The next evening we went out hiking together so I thought I'd bring along the luminoodle again, only this time using it as a lantern by keeping it in the bag that was included when we bought it. Once again, it did it's job perfectly just as described! My only regrets are buying the 5ft size instead of the 10ft size, and not buying this sooner. Loved the luminoodle so much that we'll definitely be purchasing another and definitely would recommend this to a friend!

I purchased 5 luminoodles prior to Burning Man last year. It is an annual week long event where there is no electricity. I do volunteer work for the BMan Census and am required to provide self illumination for night shifts. I wore one luminoodle hanging around my neck, with an Anker 5200 power pack in my Census coat pocket, so that vehicles entering the playa could see me. Additionally, i would wear one at night during the event. I was visible and it was much better than wearing a headlamp. I had 4 remaining luminoodles with no specific plans for their use. I erected my Shiftpod tent, which is hexagonal, and discovered that each span was 5 feet long.at the base of the roof. I quickly installed my remaining 4 and then made an emergency call to my daughter, who was arriving later, to order 2 more so that luminoodles spanned the entire perimeter of the Shiftpod. It was amazing, as it illuminated our campsite, but now the silver Shiftpod looked like a spaceship. They put out so much light, that one of the couples in our encampment requested I remove one facing their camper as it was shining through their window. Their camper was 30 feet away. Love my luminoodles...lots of light with many applications.

Pic 1, Position 1, Luminoodle OFF; Pic 2, Position 1, Luminoodle ON; Pic 3, Position 2, Luminoodle OFF; Pic 4, Position 2, Luminoodle ON; Pic 5, remote, [sold separately] Pic 6, inline dimmer. [sold separately] Been living in a custom-built campervan for over a year now and using a different set of 33' of USB lighting as my primary nighttime light source (No longer available on Amazon). They were never bright enough to do much with. So, on and off, over the past year (No pun intended), I looked for a replacement, preferably USB again for energy savings as I have 400 watts of solar and a 1500 Wh power station (Bluetti), and USB drains almost nothing from it. i have the 10' Luminoodle XL (white light only), and it is ridiculously bright for USB (360 lumens). You can see from my pics (off, on, off, on) the huge difference the light makes. I just ordered a second one for a total of 720 lumens in my 65 square foot abode. A couple of things some other reviewers have alluded to.... The Luminoodle itself, does NOT come with a dimmer/remote. It it sold separately for about $12 (amazon.com/gp/product/B06XXM1T5G/), and it is not linked to the Luminoodle Amazon page (likely Amazon's fault). Out of the box, the remote does not work. Naturally, you must pull the plastic tab that covers the battery. But then you still have to fiddle with it to get it to work. Not sure what I did to get it to work, but once it works, it's awesome! #SorryNotMoreHelpful Hoping this won't be an issue in the future. The remote is omnidirectional, unlike my previous set of USB lights, so transmitter placement is not important. Also, the Luminoodle is NOT flat. It has a flat side, and a curved side. So, the cord itself has a front and a back. For some reason, this pisses a lot of people off. Only complaints so far.... 10' is the maximum length you can buy. Also, the inline wired dimmer has a great ON/OFF button that simply toggles off and on. The remote has separate buttons for the same functionality. But, top left is off, and top right is on, so it's not too bad. For reference, my old set had top left as on, immediately next to that was off, and then there were 20 other buttons you had no idea what they did in the dark, nor could you tell which way was up in the dark. I needed a flashlight handy at all times. I cannot attest to longevity, nor can I attest to outdoor operation, as I've only used it inside my campervan for the past 24 hours. But, so far, I am thoroughly impressed, so-much-so that I've already ordered a second set of lights plus remote. I hope you have found this initial review helpful. Nothing was free. I have now spent $79 on Luminoodle products as of this review.

I have had both my luminoodles for a few years and they have worked flawlessly. I recently installed my 10 foot luminoodle in my safe. The included magnets made it possible to install it by simply sticking them to the unused space on the shelf brackets. If you want to put lights in your safe with no hassle, I highly recommend trying the luminoodle.

I saw this product on the new products page and thought this would be a great product for camping so I purchased it. Here are my thoughts: The build quality is good. It feels slightly flimsy but you get used to the fact that it simply has to be this flexible to operate as designed. When used as a strip light the LEDs produce a very nice amount of light. I used it for camping in the bed of my pickup and it was great. When used as a lantern with the included bag it produces enough light but it still seems like I would rather use a flashlight for walking around camp at night. The battery life is very good and the power source can be used as a light itself which is very helpful if you are trying to find the strip in the dark. The power source switch on mine is slightly intermittent when switching to flashlight mode but it has never faltered for battery pack mode. This could be a one-off thing and it's few and far between so I didn't deduct any stars for it. Overall I love it and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a way to illuminate their camper, tent, hammock, etc...

I have now purchased both the 5 and 10 ft versions of this guy. I usually bring a handful of powerbanks camping and then plug them into a big solar panel to charge during the day. I have had my 5ft lumenoodle for over a year, and about five camping trips, I do tend to set it up over the "Kitchen" and just leave it there so it doesn't get jostled too much, but mine hasn't shown any signs of not working yet. It's so far my preferred method of "lantern" for car camping, and I recommend it highly.

Bought these to use on our car awning but itās not in yet so used them for our tent lights. I like the ability to change the colors. The white is really bright to use for reading in the tent. I wished I had gotten a battery for the remote because Iād rather be lazy and use the remote to turn them off then to have to get up and do it! LOL...Might get another set when the car awning is here! UPDATE⦠we used these for car camping on a 3 week trip. One lesson I learned is that I left them plugged into the usb charging bank after turning them off for the night only to discover that it must still be drawing power from the charging device. I had almost no power left on m usb device. Not sure why since the luminoodle doesnāt have a battery in it to hold power. Thank goodness we have a Jackary potable battery system.

This was quite a surprise treat when I stumbled upon it on Amazon. It sounded like a very good product to have when reading the description, and upon receiving it, I really did enjoy all the options for use: - having this plug into a USB port as opposed to power outlet was genius. I tried attaching it to an older power bank I used for my cell phone, and it ran for hours and hours with no problem, and essentially is not bogged down with having to be close to a power outlet. - the translucent bag it comes with does function well as a lantern when you put the lights in it and turn it on--bonus use, since you can hang the bag from something. - it also comes with custom ties that you can adjust for various lengths, to hang the lights or attach them with, which is a nice option. - it also has some plastic anchors with magnets built in, so you can attach the light strip easily to any metal surface. - the battery that comes with it also has the added bonus of LED bulbs across the side, so you have an instant flashlight there as well. Overall a great product to have--can use it for temporary lighting across the household, or more functional flashlight in the car, or outdoors. So many possible uses!

This was actually kind of a last minute purchase for me as it came up on sale as I was prepping for a week car camping at Banff. I also bought the 10ft version, as it seemed to be a more practical length to use in camp sites. And boy, am I really glad I bought it. What set this apart from the cheaper Chinese knockoffs for me (other than the length) is simply the nice light output and build quality. My usage case for this was stringing it along the tarp/picnic table shelter area near my camp site, and during the night it lets off a pleasant, diffused lighting (I'd say about 4500K, maybe a bit warmer) that makes it really easy to live around the immediate area, as well as to find my way back to the site from the bathroom. I powered it using a 10Ah battery pack on a carabiner, which allowed me to detach it and leave the lights hanging. The lights have excellent weather resistance as temperatures ranged from 3-27 degrees C with rain, hail, and sunlight throughout the week (Mountain weather, right?) and it still lit perfectly with the rubber in seemingly perfect condition. This product also has a kind of a neat trick in that you can stuff it into its sack and it becomes a lantern of sorts. However, even with the 10ft version that I have, I would say that this good for 'area' light but doesn't really replace a good lantern inside a tent; it does work in a pinch though if you're just looking to use it to look for things. Overall, while pricey, this is a nice quality light string that does help with the camping 'experience'. My only regret is that I didn't buy more to string around the camp site.

Plugged right into my solar charger/power bank. Light strikes the middle ground between ācold blueā and āwarm yellow whiteā. The magnets are in little sleeves that slide along the length. It stuck to my fridge just fine, so I figure itāll stick to the underside of a tailgate. The yellow noodles have a big hole that goes over the strip and a little hole that the tips go thru to work like a zip tie. Iām planning on hanging it from the ridgeline of my hammock. Ding: the USB end is raw, with the contact surfaces exposed, not covered like normal. I had to wiggle the end a little to get the right angle to maintain contact with my power bank and keep the light on.
